I do not exercise, like at all, but I would like to start incorporating more movement into my schedule… however, I'm not a fan of doing exercise that I don't enjoy. The only thing that I think I might enjoy is self defence training or kickboxing. I really wish I could find a plus size 1:1 coach for this, but I haven't had any luck so far… any tips on how to change my mindset around this? I just want someone who understands what it's like to be my size, and I don't want to feel judged or be pushed past what I'm comfortable doing. I used to have a personal trainer (when I worked out often and was in a smaller body), and she had me doing box jumps, I told her the box was too high for me, and she told me that I could do it, and I physically could not. Like I was embarrassed to say that I didn't think I could do it, then she makes me try it and I fall. It was just not a good experience, and I want someone who trusts that I know when to push myself.

Hey! So I started muay thai / kickboxing when I was plus sized and honestly from my experience the coaches do their best to push you to your full potential. My coach is a yeller but I got comfortable with it after awhile. It is a little rough in the beginning, not gonna lie, I was very sore and scared to punch anyone. But now I love it! I feel the self defense aspect of it really boosted my confidence and the workouts were great!

99% of self defense is just owning a gun. Even trained a 1v2 can be difficult as humans are mostly unpredictable. If you don't own a gun you must run away which for fats is well...

Any combat sport is going to not be enjoyable if you're a lard. Even more so if it's something that involves a lot of protective gear. I swear my butt off doing fencing and I'm in solid shape.
