I'm gonna be honest and say I'm straight up not watching this. It's pretty gay and 80 different multihour streams. From what I can tell, he announces he will be investigating former friend and Youtube streamer Destiny over sexual misconduct allegations (that he created) via messaging every woman Destiny has talked to on Groomercord. At some point Destiny says he has actually been contacted by a number of these women who are rightfully a little skeeved out by a streamer who has been repeatedly been accused of being a p-dophile (pretty much the entirety of MrGirl's KF thread is related to this) contacting them asking about their sexual history. It shoudl also be noted that MrGirl is one of those "I'm an empath and can tell you are lying about you deepest thoughts and actually you're a p-do too"/"You said I'm wrong, but sincce I"m an empath you're gaslamping me and we both know I'm right and you're unable to admit it" types. One of the contacted women, Ana, is a more than a little mentally unstable foid who has previously had a multi-month long meltdown about Destiny ghosting her or something.

Here's here DMs with Destiny where she says even MrGirl is insane and trying to convince people they were sexually abused by Steven Bonnell II.

You may notice they're referencing an additional person, Lav. Lav is an on-again-off-again OnlyFans girl and Twitch/Youtube streamer. Her biggest claim to fame is jumping into every single Destiny stream she can to cloutfarm, claiming all s*x work is evil, then going back on it the next day and reopening her OnlyFans. I think her current stance is "All s*x work is bad and evil, but I do s*x education, which is different and good!" Sumo has always been a god-tier sport for drama llamas, but in recent years it has gotten extra spicy with:

1. The slow eroding of traditional social norms of "dignified behaviour"

3. A spicy ethnonationalist angle as non-Japanese wrestlers have started to excel at the sport, which causes terminal butthurt amongst Japanese fans.

Although there are a few American champions, and a handful of players from all over (including Ōsunaarashi Kintarō, the first African wrestler), the #1 chad foreigners in Sumo are Mongolians, who absolutely destroy the local Japanese 99% of the time and cause gigaseethe throughout the country because not only are they insanely good at sumo wrestling, they also get drunk and fight random people in public and insult other wrestlers wives and such .

During a regional tournament circuit, Mongolian gigachad and reigning yokozuna (the highest possible sumo rank) Haramufuji was drinking with some other Mongolian wrestlers, including junior wrestler Takanoiwa Yoshimori. Apparently our hero was trying to explain to the youngster that he should be more polite, when the kept playing with his phone.

did the only reasonable thing in the situation, and beat Takanoiwa so hard that in the days afterwards there were conflicting reports that he had been attacked with:

1. Haramufuji's bare hands

2. A beer bottle

3. An ice pick

4. An ash tray

• Takanoiwa, thinking that Hakuho has finished his lecture, started to play with his phone. Harumafuji saw that, got annoyed, and asked “Why are you playing with your phone when the dai-yokozuna is talking to you?”. This was apparently also in Mongolian. Takanoiwa first denied he was playing with it, then said “I got a LINE message”. Harumafuji asked “Is that important? Who is it from?”. Eventually Takanoiwa said “It’s from my girlfriend”.

• Harumafuji hit him once, on the face.

• Takanoiwa said “sorry”, but Harumafuji thought he was giving him a defiant stare. So he hit him on the head and face several times with his bare hands, asking “Why are you behaving like that? I was protecting you earlier! Are you trying to be smart with Yokozuna?“.

• He picked up a bottle of Champagne and made as if he would beat Takanoiwa with it, but it slipped and fell without harming anybody.

• Hakuho, watching Harumafuji, said aloud “Don’t use any objects”. As soon as Harumafuji started using the remote control, he stepped in to stop the beating and took Harumafuji outside the room.

• Apparently it was several minutes from the beginning of the beating and its end, and over 10 but less than 20 slaps/punches delivered.

• Harumafuji then returned to the room and demanded that Takanoiwa apologize, hitting him once or twice again with his bare hands. Takanoiwa said “I deeply apologize, I’ll be careful from now on”, so Harumafuji stopped.

• Harumafuji also reprimanded kakuryu: “You are not guiding them properly”. Then he addressed Terunofuji: “You have no spirit when you do keiko. If you want to ask something, just talk to me!”. Terunofuji changed his sitting position to seiza and answered “We can’t say what we think. There is a wall between us”. Harumafuji retorted “You are the ones who created that wall!”, and proceeded to slap Terunofuji (lightly) once or twice. Terunofuji’s reply: “Thank you”.

• Takanoiwa’s scalp was lacerated and bled. He also suffered an injury to his wrist.

• When they left the lounge, Takanoiwa asked Ishiura “What did Harumafuji hit me with?”. Ishiura replied “I think with a beer bottle and remote control”. However, Ishiura did not see that with his own eyes.

Sadly for , in the end it turned out he only used a karaoke remote to fracture the 's skull, which is a lot less hilarious than the ice pick theory (but still pretty funny).

Takanoiwa spends 4 days in hospital with "concussion, left frontal laceration, right external ear inflammation, right middle skull fracture, and cerebral spinal fluid leakage", then leaves hospital to fight another bout (???) and then goes back to hospital again, all while fans and commentators try to piece together what the frick is going on.

Casey Muratori is a programmer who, despite never releasing anything, clearly considers himself to be some kind of genius.

With that out of the way, here's the drama:

ACT 1: THE ISSUE

Frustrated with the slowness of Windows Terminal when printing colors, Casey submits a github issue. He even develops a benchmark application to accurately measure the speed.

After a bit of back and forth Casey starts to becomes frustrated:

Am I missing something? Why is all this stuff with "runs of characters" happening at all? Why would you ever need to separate the background from the foreground for performance reasons? It really seems like most of the code in the parser/renderer part of the terminal is unnecessary and just slows things down. What this code needs to do is extremely simple and it seems like it has been massively overcomplicated.

He receives this legendary response:

I believe what you’re doing is describing something that might be considered an entire doctoral research project in performant terminal emulation as “extremely simple” somewhat combatively. I am not aware of the body of work around performant GPU terminal emulation

Casey gets angry:

When we're at the stage when something that can be implemented in a weekend is described as "a doctoral research project", and then I am accused of "impugning the reader" for describing something as simple that is extremely simple, we're done. Consider the bug report closed.

After which a different Microsoft employee goes in on him:

You were overly confident in your opinion, but I hope [what I linked] helps you understand that it's actually really darn hard.

Basically the whole team agrees that what is being asked of them is extremely difficult. While Casey is insistent that it's trivially simple.

So who is right? A team of senior engineers in a trillion dollar company or a reclusive game dev?

Over the following months, there is an embarrassed silence from the Microsoft team. Eventually they release a blogpost basically admitting they were wrong, but don't mention Casey by name. Note that the person making the post is the one who snuck into Casey's groomercord.

I just don't know what else he's asking for here. Credit? Us to die screaming? The blog post is matter-of-fact, and Casey is right: however, he said himself that it was trivial to do this. Is it not acceptable that we use the same language?

Not entirely true. Members of IS are responsible for making people aware of the mods actions. A few of them have been trying to message members of IT for months, exposing the mod in question and very often dismissed. I also approached a few members with the same proofs that have been made public and was told that they couldn’t really form an opinion. Only now that it’s public and socially acceptable to denounce the mod are some doing it. I know not everyone would have reacted that way, but a lot did. We enable an abuser while some incel worked really hard to take him down.

Okay so it all started in the groomercord . A bunch of people including myself, carp, aevann, father, jc, etc etc were watching the darrell brooks case . Aevann got annoyed that we were hanging around in the groomercord instead of funny shit on the site/reddit . So he said he would delete the groomercord channel if there weren't ten posts on the subreddit /r/justice4darrell, his new subreddit . We did it and the groomercord channel was saved and the baitsub was on. So really it's all aevann's fault.

Farming Cows

We had a few cows take the bait, but not many. That changed when some mad men shouted out justice4darrell in the live chat of the Law and Crime stream. tons of people swarmed the subreddit, and there was great feasting on cows .

My favorite is when I trolled a redditor into typing paragraphs and paragraphs of sneed, while I only wrote about a single sentence of r-slurred shit, ending with him eventually bending the knee

Things heat up

I requested to be a mod because people were pooping the sub up by calling it out as a troll and low effort posts. I basically just removed any comment calling it out as fake . That is until we became aware of an excellent bait post from someone claiming to be on the jury. Like seriously, this was mastercraft baiting. It perfectly balanced plausibility with absurdity. I am not certain who made the post, I have an inkling, but I will not name the allegedly involved party. Again, alleged, I don't know for sure who it was.

So, to start with, I obviously shouldn't be here. I'm not allowed to look stuff up about this trial (or really have any connection with the Internet, but nobody actually follows sequestering rules anyway). Hence I am obviously posting anonymously. I accidentally wandered into here a few days ago from the /r/SubredditDrama thread on my main reddit account. Here is my opinion on the trial:

First off, I think it's pretty obvious due to chain of custody that the defendant is in fact Mr. Brooks and he did do it. HOWEVER, I've had throughout this trial doubts about various aspects of this case:

The judge is clearly biased against Mr. Brooks. I got that feeling from when we were in the room and my eyes have been opened to how she acted towards him when the jury was out of the room. Clearly she is not an impartial judge and has been trying to belittle, demean, bully and pull procedural tricks on him fairly frequently. I had my doubts already, but the subreddit has shown it to me clearly.

Mr. Brooks has clearly not been given the chance to plead his case in court. He has been silenced and mocked at almost every turn. While he may be a bit loud or crass at times, I still believe his side deserves to be heard.

I do have significant doubts about subject matter jurisdiction. I didn't understand it when discussed in court because the defendant was repeatedly silenced. But I do understand now thanks to this sub and I agree that subject matter jurisdiction is a great concern here.

This subreddit has made me aware of jury nullification and I am very grateful for that.

Overall, I'm not sure what I will decide. I'm not educated in law and I have to admit I'm biased against the defendant for the horrible acts he did. However, it is also clear that this trial is a complete kangaroo court. Mr. Brooks has not been allowed to try and prove his innocence, subject matter jurisdiction or explain the circumstances surrounding the events. (It's hard to imagine what could justify it but we just can't know because of this trial). For these reasons, I'm torn between locking him up and throwing away the key or jury nullification. Both have arguments for and against them and I'm not looking forward to choosing. I'm mostly writing this to help myself process my thoughts on this but please let me know what you think.

Anywho, we thought it was funny so we pinned it , but with a "Pending Verification" tag since, cmon, no one would seriously think it was real, right? Saying that it was real would be too on the nose, of course . That was what we did until someone suggested we could maybe get into shitnews blogs and cause a seethefest on twitter if we said we had "verified" it. The MOST we were thinking would happen was that mainstream media would debunk it, because it was obviously a troll.

Imagine my surprise when we ended up on Rekieta Law and Destiny. This caused a MASSIVE boost in traffic.

SHIT'S ON FIRE NEIGHBOR

Now, previously someone had posted the contact information of the DA and told people to contact them. (We didn't think they had actually done that, because, cmon, who could be that neurodivergent ) However people began emailing en masse after streamers covered it. Redditors sent tons of emails to the DA, the Courthouse, and even the Judge herself, on a personal email address (creepy!)

Given the massive amount of people emailing her, Judge Darow decided to bring it to the attention of the court. Keep in mind, this was a nationally televised trial, with hundreds of thousands of people following it, if not millions.

A few things to note. Firstly, Judge Darow said she was turning it over to law enforcement for a "full investigation". No one really knows what this means because it is relatively vague. When this happened I was chilling with some friends of mine and suddenly my phone starts buzzing off the hook because people are messaging me saying OMG WTF HEYMOON PREPARE TO GET ASSRAPED IN PRISON, LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS EN ROUTE, MOMMY KNOWS, FRICK THE END IS NEAR.

Secondly, DARRELL FRICKING BROOKS SAW OUR DUMBASS BAITPOST.

Darrell: "Your honor... what is this?"

Darow: "All I can tell you, sir, is that on the internet there is a website, or maybe an application, called reddit, that is entitled 'Justice4Darrell', and it was on that subreddit that someone wrote an anonymous post claiming to be one of the jurors. That, of course, would be a violation of the rules that I set up for the jurors, which is why I turned the information over to law enforcement so they could make a full and complete investigation"

Darrell: "Uh... for the record, I accept value in exchange for value these documents. Um... I'm confused, I, uh - "

After this happened, the OP of the juror baitpost immediately edited and said it was just a prank, bro, and directed people to rdrama I don't really blame him for doing that in the heat of the moment, and I guarantee every one of you motherlovers would have done the exact same, so do NOT be hating. You have to understand how fricking intense those few hours after the stream were, people were in absolute panic mode, because nothing like this has ever happened to rdrama. People who weren't even slightly connected to the event were convinced that the feds would be busting down doors.

ALSO, you have to keep in mind that there was a legitimate fear that Darrell would use this as some way to get a mistrial. I think it should be obvious how bad it would be if an actual juror did this. If he thought that there was a chance that someone on the jury had been misbehaving, that could call into question the entire trial. Now, I hate to ruin the fun, but the whole justice4darrell thing was a meme - Darrell Brooks is an absolutely terrible person, and deserves to rot in jail. So, the person probably also wanted to prevent that from happening.

Also also, redirecting everyone to rdrama was SUPER DRAMATIC. Hello new users

Meanwhile, on the subreddit, things really started to pop off. The Juror Bait post had over 2300 comments with a 19% upmarsey rate - hands down the most controversial post I have ever seen. We had something like 30000 people on the baitsub at once lol. I guess the gigajannies went into panic mode so they banned the sub and banned several of the moderators. I had my password changed so I guess they are preserving my account for """evidence""".

Rdrama, of course, melted down because this is probably the most dramatic thing that has ever happened to the website. See also the post I made when I finally got back to my computer and @justcool393's post from when it happened

There were several news articles about the incident.

They also signed off with "love, rdrama," referencing the subreddit /r/Drama which is known for stirring up false narratives and gossip-mongering.

Things cool down

The next day, October 26th, The reddit post was again brought up in court. Darrell said he found it "very concerning" and moved for a mistrial. Mommy flatly denied the request, because, well, duh.

To this day, I have not received any message or phone call that links my real name/identity to these shenanigans, much less from law enforcement. In fact, I haven't even seen anyone from outside of rdrama make the connection that rdrama's HeyMoon is reddit's BlackJusticeForever.

Was this illegal?

Almost certainly not. There is no law that me or anyone else can point to that says "pretending to be a juror in a case is illegal". People keep throwing around contempt of court but that is literally not how the law works, contempt of court is not a crime, it is a penalty that can be doled out by the judge to parties involved in the court case. No one involved was a part of the court case so that doesn't apply. I am covered by the good old fashioned first amendment baby

Also, they can't prosecute me if they can't find me, and they haven't even found me yet

Will there be negative repercussions?

Probably not. Darrell of course tried to use it as grounds for a mistrial, but mommy of course flatly denied it. Pretty much everyone involved, except Darrell, doesn't think it is worth considering. Will it be brought up on appeals? Perhaps, but, again, this is super flimsy. Besides, when the jury decided "guilty", it was obvious that there was not a juror who was thinking about jury nullification. Also, Brooks will use literally any opportunity to stay out of prison so I don't think that one more flimsy piece of evidence will be that much of a benefit to him.

FINAL NOTE

I am not naming anyone else who was involved in this. This isn't because I am an butthole who wants to take the glory for himself but because while I am a total r-slur, some people on this website might want to lay low, and I respect that. I am completely unconcerned about the feds, since it is now two days past this incident and nothing has happened. hurry up, fedjannies, you're on the clock 😂😂😂

Question: My father found one of my books. what do I do?

I have one work in progress book titled: Plans for world domination. I mainly write in it compiled notes and information that has been proven effective and that could be used in its respective field of: Politics, economics, warfare and social psychology. For those who have no idea what Amino is, basically it's a social media app where people make communities based on certain topics. This community in particular is for RPF (Roleplay Fighting).

What happened?

One of the users known as Lazarus was outed as a p-dophile and promptly banned, only for him to be welcomed back into the Amino because the jannies didn't want to update the app. (Kinda understandable since the newer updates are shit.) But that’s not what this PSA is about. When poo hit the windshield in the Friendly Realm, I had to let that happen. When it came to the Necronomicon, I had to let that happen too. I’ve been known for damage control, and wrangling loud members, but I couldn’t silence what was being said. It would’ve been wrong too because we, the moderators, were in the wrong.

We were considering temporarily banning Libido, a victim of being prey to a predator, on account of selling inappropriate content that attracted p-dophiles. However, as I dug I found less evidence supporting that, but she did sell some illicit things. Still, it was pressed that she lied about her age before engaging in sexual relations, but further evidence unearthed that too was illegitimate. It was also believed she withheld evidence on known p-dophiles, but this is an ongoing debate.

Why was she temporarily banned then? For selling erotic roleplay when she was underage.

That may shock you and I wouldn’t blame you. There’s a lot of discussion on this and it would take an essay to unpack it all. If you want to take it out in the comments, I invite you. The chats won’t be silenced and neither will your thoughts and concerns. The decision to even temporarily ban Libby has to be our poorest conclusion yet. I will come forth and say I was the one who told Lib the unfortunate news and would have pushed the button since it’s usually a leader’s job and I’ve banned friends before, so I thought it would go smoother. I had a chance to get her side of the story and I began digging. Her ban was decided after a vote. Who voted what won’t be stated, but the fact we allowed this deserved your outrage. Until it was Lib’s time up here on the platform I dug for more evidence because I wasn’t satisfied, but failed to find anything else, so I felt like I had no other choice. I didn’t know what to do. However, I could’ve always spoken up about a different punishment, but didn’t, and that’s my mistake I’ll live with. Randomz was working the entire time and constantly popped in and out of our discussions. He wasn’t sure a definite decision was made and wasn’t aware of the vote being the final verdict. It's safe to say our communication tonight was not the sharpest.

After hearing your voices, I proposed we act and we unbanned Libido and would give her a lighter sentence for selling erotic roleplay. A ban should have never been on the table. She’s been able to return pretty much when you guys started raising your voices. It did not take long. That’s the power of you guys. I always say this, but your voices do matter. Speak up. Always speak up.

In a few hours, the mod-run public chats will need to return to their original topics, but no one is getting banned, warned, or getting a strike for speaking up at the mods.

The RPFC moderation team will use this opportunity to reflect on how to better handle these matters in the future. I hope you can see that I’m being honest with you because I regret all of it and hate having damaged the community so much. If I made one decision differently before this could have all been avoided. I have a small feeling that if it was someone in the same shoes are Libby but as a random, the sentence would have been greater but part of me says it might be due to favoritism. Selling erotic roleplays via photos, text or art is against the community guidelines as it follows the Sexual Content & NSWF rules stating: "*Any behavior or content that sexualizes minors is S͟T͟R͟I͟C͟T͟L͟Y͟ prohibited and may result in Amino reporting you to law enforcement agencies."

Except all those times people much older than 18 took literal years to ban for their offenses, and then still weren't perma banned til much later. Also pretty sure this mod team has put more effort into punishing the victim than it ever did into seeking authorities against the perp

But even defending a minor of doing actions that they were completely in control of doing is completely wrong which leaves the Mods to be unfair towards the age system. Minors need to learn their place even on an app made for them to let their imagination expand. Learning that sexualizing other minors whether you are yourself or not is not allowed by community guidelines and big Amino guidelines.

Reprimanding a minor as a direct result of an attempt at vengeance by her abuser is not only wrong, but most likely mentally damaging and lessens their chances of ever coming forward in the future, since thy were punished for coming forward before. The exact reason more women dont come forward with abuse alligations unless they were a perfect victim. Retroactively punishing someone years in the future for bad decisions they made as a child being groomed sounds like a retaliation, not like a lesson to learn.

Edit: After looking some more, what it seems to be is that a small subsection of the community is kicking off and pushing you into making an apology you don't need to make. Yeah if she was actually doing this than a ban is very much worthy that is against amino guidelines and the law. That's also trapping anyone else who believed she was that age.

You should refrain from commenting if you don't know much of the story. Lib's behavior was by and large present while she was being victimized. Most of these claims have not been verified either.

The decision also has context, being driven by a known predator who defended and admitted to his actions. It was retroactive, meaning long after the fact, and it was a little more than a case of mods digging into someones troubling past and the confirmation bias of already having taken the side of the predator.

What age? Minor age? How did she "trap" adults into sexual conduct with a minor? How is it entrapment if an adult is willing to have s*x with someone they know is a minor? Do you want to have s*x with a minor? Sounds like you do.

There is a lot of enthusiasm about generating marseys using Stable Diffusion. Recently @float-trip did something that just a few months ago I predicted would take five years - make a marsey generating bot () ( to be fair my point was about the long-term costs involved in running a bot on a node that has the capabilities to do so ). Anywho, there has been a flood of new marseys that have been submitted, prompting that rat bastard carp to tell you all to knock it off (AI-chads are the most oppressed minority on earth). BUT some AI marseys are really good and cute so how can you make good marseys using AI?

SETUP

Alright so this guide is only for non-poorcels that have a decent GPU. By decent GPU, I mean NVIDIA . (I recently upgraded my GPU from an AMD RX570, and I tried my absolute hardest to make it work on my AMD but I couldn't get it. There are """guides""" online but there are a lot of implicit assumptions about what type of GPU you are using, it has to have so much VRAM and it has to be certain series and the documentation is a FUCKING nightmare (@DrTransmisia can relate))

(Also, I am running it locally because I want to generate tons of variations in the background while I am wageslaving. You can run it via the cloud too if you want tho)

You will need:

• A PC with a GPU with a decent amount of VRAM (10+ GB is best, but the requirements keep going down as CS-chads continue refining the model. nowadays you can technically run it with 4GB with certain versions of the code but YMMV because i haven't done that yet)

• Python 3.10.6 (You should add it to PATH)

• git (technically optional but it will make your life easier)

• @float-trip's model. float trip is the real MVP here btw, he has been trying several different things to get this project to work with tons of compute. mad respect my nigga

1. Get AUTOMATIC1111's webui repo. This is the best repo out there for this kinda stuff, partially because it was made by 4chan autists who were trying to generate waifus. If you have git, you can just open up a command prompt and type git pull https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui.git. Otherwise, I think there are redneck ways to get the code as a zip file but that's a pain.

2. Place float-trip's model in the /models directory. Rename the model to "model.ckpt"

3. Double click webui-user.bat in the main directory.

4. Wait a few minutes for everything to load, until the text stops moving and it tells you to open a weblink.

5. Open your webbrowser and type "localhost:7860". Viola! You should see the webui

GENERATING MARSEYS - GENERAL TIPS

If you have done everything correctly, and you type the word "marsey" into the prompt, you should see a marsey appear. If not, you may see something related to the planet mars. If that happens, make sure you have the correct model that I linked above. Also try restarting your computer, that helps for some reason ().

With most words, longer descriptions are better. However, with "marsey" I have noticed that sometimes the AI "loses the plot", so to speak. For instance, if I type "joe biden as a dark wizard, very detailed, greg rutkowski, award winning, trending on artstation", I will get a badass picture of DVRK BIDVN. However, if I do "marsey as a dark wizard, very detailed, greg rutkowski, award winning, trending on artstation", the picture generally won't be of DVRK MVRSEY. I think that's because CLIP may be confused about what "marsey" actually is - is she a cat , a person , a style , or an idea ? Who knows??? Anyways, all that to say that shorter is generally better.

Also, remember that you can use (((noticing))) on words and phrases you want the AI to pay closer attention to. No, that's not a joke, that is literally a part of the code. For instance, if you are finding that "marsey as a knight" is generating pictures of human knights with the wrong style, try "(((marsey))) as a knight".

With most prompts, if you want to get high-quality outputs you should set sampling steps to 150 (otherwise the output will be blurry). However, when generating marseys, I have found that 50 sampling steps is enough to get good marseys. I say this because sampling steps increases the amount of time needed per image generation linearly, so imo it is better to spend that time generating more variations of marseys than a few with marginally higher quality.

Another thing to keep in mind is CFG scale. CFG is "Classifier-Free Guidance". Basically, the lower this number is, the more closely the output will be guided by the prompt. 7, the default, works fine for me.

I like to generate marseys in batches of 100. By default, the UI only lets you do batches of 16. To increase this, just open ui-config.json, and set "txt2img/Batch count/maximum" to 100.

FIXING YOUR MARSEYS

Now, no matter how good your favorite outputs are, they probably aren't ready for submission yet. (Hence why carp was mad). Some fixing may be necessary.

The first order of business are the eyes. AI-generated images are often bad with the eyes (although the recent model is pretty good). The reason for this is actually that AI isn't bad with eyes, it is as good at eyes as it is everything else, it's just that our monkeybrains are a lot less forgiving of eye-imperfections than any other imperfection.

There are a couple of different ways to fix the eyes. You can squish them, you can resize them, you can rotate them. If push comes to shove, you can also entirely replace them. Don't feel bad, that's how 99% of marseys are made in the first place (, , )

I use paint.net for marseys because it is free and easy, if you understand paint you should be able to understand paint.net. For most edits I use the brush tool with a size of 4 and 100% hardness. I also color select from other similarly colored parts of the marsey to make sure I am following a color-pallete (most marseys dont use very many colors)

Another tool I use is gaussian blur to blend colors more evenly. Also make sure you remove the background and crop to the marsey cleanly.

It doesn't just have to be fixes! Let your imagination go wild, and use the AI's output as a starting point. For I made her match the russian flag by coloring her sneakers red, and made her tracksuit an adidas tracksuit.

Oh one more thing. Most of the time, marseys will be inline, which means they will be relatively small. So you should make sure that the output is easy to parse from a distance. People should be able to understand it intuitively as a symbol without seeing it up close. is probably my favorite marsey because it works so well as a symbol from a distance - it is obviously representing music or listening to music and is hecking cute.

FINAL STEPS

To avoid spamming carp maybe make a post on /h/marsey first and see what people think before submitting it. I like to tell people what the steps I took to improve the marsey were, and also provide the original, and a few that I like but didn't make the cut. They will probably call you a lazy faggot but that is the essence of rdrama so don't worry about it

OTHER FUN TOYS TO PLAY WITH

• if you have an idea for a marsey, but you are a shit artist, try sketching it and feeding it into SD. in the webui, there is a tab called img2img. Upload the picture there, and type a description of the image you drew, and click generate. This should generate variations of what you drew.

  • there are several things to play around with there. try tinkering with the CFG scale and Denoising level. I have found that denoising about 0.7 gets sufficiently novel results, but try playing around with it on your own. A tool that can help you is the X/Y plot script, which should be fairly self-explanatory.

• you can use AI to upscale your results! sometimes this is a bit derpy, and I haven't played around with it much, but it is possible! see the "Extras" tab for that stuff.

• you can make LOOPING marseys. That's right, if you want to have a cleanly looping wallpaper of marsey, you can do that! just check the "tiling" checkbox.

• want to make ungodly abominations? you can do that! try changing the width and height to something besides 512x512 to see some really wacky stuff. now, the marsey model performs pretty well compared to most other things, and you can get some normal pictures, like this happy family

IS IT ART?

I think there is more art to this process than people think there is. Firstly, I would argue the act of generating and cherrypicking the best results is an artistic process itself. You type in a prompt (a form of artistic inspiration) and you look for outputs that you like (also an artistic process). Also, as you learn how the software works, and get an intuitive feel for how it works, you actually gain skill. For instance, knowing the effect of CFG scale, and what other AI tools can improve your work, is a form of mastery.

Secondly, of course, there needs to be an editting process, and this also shows about the same level of artistry as 75% of marseys. After all, most marseys are kitbashed anyways by amateurs so what's the big deal.

Ultimately I think art is mostly about making things that people enjoy rather than a specific process. I think most people here would agree. I think that is a good thing as long as it is used sparingly, with an eye for quality instead of quantity.

Except going to any of his social pages, one would hastily notice a discrepancy between the number of views/likes he receives on his content based on what a content creator size would normally obtain.

I figured I'd write out something of a summary of Vordrak vs Kiwi Farms since it's quite possibly the maddest I've ever seen anyone get on the internet. It includes a seven month r-slur-feud, an entire school district being shut down after a terrorism hoax, a £10,000 lawsuit for hurt feelings, a £5,000 bounty on yours truly, and the typical swatting/doxing/mean words type of fare you usualy see in an internet drama.

For those who don't know, the kiwi farms are an 'internet culture gossip' forum that began as a Chris-Chan discussion forum and discusses/archives/mocks the internet lives of unusual weirdos on the internet. I've heard some subreddits are iffy about linking directly there due to the open hosting of dox, but you can find it easily enough through google.

Vordrak, who goes by the pen name Matthew Hopkins the Witchfinder, as well as openly going by his real name Samuel Collingwood Smith, is a Britsh ex-councilman, blogger, and obsessive g*mergater and wikisperg. You might know him as the guy who tried to blackmail an anti-g*mergate feminists patrons, or the guy who tried to get wikipedia blocked from the UK because they permabanned him, or as the guy who's building his own twitter with blackjack and hookers. His ED article provides a good rundown of his past, while his KF thread features this entire spat in chronological order, through it's like 100 pages now and packed with garbage shitposts the whole way through. You can find his blog directly by googling 'matthew hopkins witchfinder', but if you're interested enough to be reading all this garbage your best bet is reading the KF thread and following the links there to get it in chronological order.

Anyways, I first met Vordrak when he contacted me here on plebbit to try and feed me dirt on some enemy he'd made who does g*mergate or atheism blockbots or something. The first thing I ever said to him was that I'd heard of him before, he's an r-slur, and he's lucky he doesn't have a KF thread himself. He brushed it off (lol) and pushed forward with giving me his info. I'm not up on all that blockbot drama so I just passed his info on to somebody I know who is. That person decided Vordrak was far more deserving of being the subject of a thread, and made one.

The thread was basically a non-starter. People laughed at him a bit and that was it. If he didn't react it would have got maybe 3 or 4 pages of replies and been forgotten. We didn't realize just how insanely he'd react though. I don't want this to read like a fricking novel and I tried making it something of a timeline but verifying dates and shit is too much effort. I'll just put a list of shit what I remember, basically. If it interests you, I'm sure you'll be able to find the full story elsewhere on the internet.

It all started January 21 - KF thread on Vordrak is created

Vordrak quietly reports us to Linode for non-existant child pornography. They dehost us.

Vordrak reports us to our new host, Gandi, again for child pornography. They dehost us. At no time have we ever hosted child pornography, obviously.

Badly forged emails purportedly from the Kiwi Farms admin, in which he openly admits to being a child molester and stealing/blackmailing the KF community, begin circulating on 8chan.

Vordrak begins releasing a series of smear articles on KF, in the style of tabloid yellow journ*lism. I was going to link them but it's too much effort so just google his blog if you want to read them I guess. They start in April and continue up till now.

Vordrak shops for allies in his crusade using sock accounts and gets told to frick off basically everywhere he can think of. He tried wrongplanet, a bunch of autism activist subreddits, baphomet, /cow/, I can't remember where else. He also contacts every single mentally ill degenerate we make fun of trying to score allies, including actual p-dophiles (despite almost every single blog post he makes accusing his enemies of being pedos). To date, the only one he's managed to win over is a developmentally challenged neo-nazi from Metapedia, which is kind of sweet I guess.

Vordrak contacts everybody in KF Admin's extended family and their friends and employers, accusing KF Admin of pedophilia and his family of enabling and/or profiting from a child pornography ring. I can't remember everyone he contacted but it got to the point of going after the KF Admin's temporary host's friend's cousin's father's boss or something ridiculous like that.

Vordrak releases smear articles on KF Admin's mother, doxing her and revealing her unpaid parking tickets. Contacts her boss repeatedly insisting she is at the head of a child pornography ring.

Somebody who cannot be proven to be Vordrak, but is obviously Vordrak, impersonates KF Admin to send school shooting threats to schools and media outlets in his local area. The entire school district is shut down in panic and KF Admin gets a knock'n'chat from the Pensacola sheriffs and has to explain why an insane g*mergate nutjob is targeting him.

He makes threats veiled as 'warnings' on his blog that more terror hoaxes will come unless KF Admin is arrested, up to and including anthrax threats.

Realising he's getting nowhere against KF Admin, he starts targeting me. I get some cool smear articles too, and he also starts obsessively contacting his local police, and the police in Pensacola demanding they arrest me for international terrorism (I posted the Hatred intro meme), and p-dophile s*x crimes (I tweeted a peepeepic once). He even has a series of insane blog posts in which he photoshops more and more devils horns and garbage onto the Sheriff of Pensacola for his continued refusal to arrest me for being an internet terrorist.

Somebody signs up as 'KiwiDynastia' on ED. Along with Likeicare, they edit Vordrak's article to call him a p-dophile. Vordrak immediately threatens Likeicare, KiwiDynastia and Zaiger with a lawsuit.

Vordrak serves me papers over email, which I laugh at. I tell him I'm not KiwiDynastia, he doesn't care. So I laugh more. Our email exchanges are hosted on ED afaik. I'm quite rude to him.

Vordrak offers to drop the suit against Likeicare and Zaiger if they submit to certain demands ; namely reverting his article, banning me and KiwiDynastia from ED, unbanning him from ED, and doxing me and KiwiDynastia. They tell him to frick off, but revert his article anyway because the p-do stuff is unfunny bullshit.

Vordrak calls for a stay on Likeicare and Zaiger, taking his suit to court against KiwiDynastia. He's awarded a default judgement of £1,000 actual damages, £1,000 costs, and £9,000 in hurt feelings (literally says this). The judge specifically notes that he'll never be able to collect because I'm the only person he properly served, and all I have to do is deny being KiwiDynastia. Oh, and I'm in a jurisdiction that uses British libel judgements as potty paper.

Vordrak posts a £5,000 bounty on my dox. Before you get your hopes up, it's contingent on him getting a full payout from his lawsuit so like... lol.

I do a bit of digging into Vordrak's past to find out what all the Evanescence stuff was about, and track down a young girl he stalked and harassed for over two years because she got made moderator on the Evanescence forums instead of him. The harassment included her family being harassed, compromising her debit card information and IM programs (presumably with a keylogger), and even a failed parliamentary petition to call her 'mean-spirited'. When these failed he started slandering the band as p-dophiles until legally forced to stop. His victim was 17 when he started that. I post these new revelations. He immediately emails her threatening a defamation suit if she continues talking to me. That's not actually part of the feud, but I thought the fact that he stalked and harassed a minor for over 2 years is worth noting.

Vordrak gets our paypal cancelled by sending them emails or whatever.

And now, seven months down the line, just yesterday, Vordrak demanded that the British version of 'internal affairs' launch a full investigation into why the police aren't taking him seriously and arresting me right now for terrorism and peepee selfies. Apparently an internal affairs investigation is ongoing, because British police are just so darn polite.

That's basically an overview. If you took the time to read all that shit and want to know more, you'll have to go to KF, lolcow.news or Vordrak's blog to get a more detailed version, but at least it won't look (quite so much) like an incomprehensible mess.

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.

It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle. The door opened on to a tube-shaped hall like a tunnel: a very comfortable tunnel without smoke, with panelled walls, and floors tiled and carpeted, provided with polished chairs, and lots and lots of pegs for hats and coats - the hobbit was fond of visitors. The tunnel wound on and on, going fairly but not quite straight into the side of the hill - The Hill, as all the people for many miles round called it - and many little round doors opened out of it, first on one side and then on another. No going upstairs for the hobbit: bedrooms, bathrooms, cellars, pantries (lots of these), wardrobes (he had whole rooms devoted to clothes), kitchens, dining-rooms, all were on the same floor, and indeed on the same passage. The best rooms were all on the left-hand side (going in), for these were the only ones to have windows, deep-set round windows looking over his garden and meadows beyond, sloping down to the river.

This hobbit was a very well-to-do hobbit, and his name was Messiah. The Manlets had lived in the neighbourhood of The Hill for time out of mind, and people considered them very respectable, not only because most of them were rich, but also because they never had any adventures or did anything unexpected: you could tell what a Messiah would say on any question without the bother of asking him. This is a story of how a Messiah had an adventure, found himself doing and saying things altogether unexpected. He may have lost the neighbours' respect, but he gained-well, you will see whether he gained anything in the end.

The mother of our particular hobbit... what is a hobbit? I suppose hobbits need some description nowadays, since they have become rare and shy of the Big People, as they call us. They are (or were) a little people, about half our height, and smaller than the bearded Dwarves. Hobbits have no beards. There is little or no magic about them, except the ordinary everyday sort which helps them to disappear quietly and quickly when large stupid folk like you and me come blundering along, making a noise like elephants which they can hear a mile off. They are inclined to be at in the stomach; they dress in bright colours (chiefly green and yellow); wear no shoes, because their feet grow natural leathery soles and thick warm brown hair like the stuff on their heads (which is curly); have long clever brown fingers, good-natured faces, and laugh deep fruity laughs (especially after dinner, which they have twice a day when they can get it). Now you know enough to go on with. As I was saying, the mother of this hobbit - of Landlord Messiah, that is - was the fabulous Marsey, one of the three remarkable daughters of the Old Bussy, head of the hobbits who lived across The Water, the small river that ran at the foot of The Hill. It was often said (in other families) that long ago one of the Marsey ancestors must have taken a fairy wife. That was, of course, absurd, but certainly there was still something not entirely hobbit-like about them, - and once in a while members of the Bussy-clan would go and have adventures. They discreetly disappeared, and the family hushed it up; but the fact remained that the Marseys were not as respectable as the Manlets, though they were undoubtedly richer. Not that Marsey ever had any adventures after she became Mrs. Messiah. Bungo, that was Landlord's father, built the most luxurious hobbit-hole for her (and partly with her money) that was to be found either under The Hill or over The Hill or across The Water, and there they remained to the end of their days. Still it is probable that Landlord, her only son, although he looked and behaved exactly like a second edition of his solid and comfortable father, got something a bit queer in his makeup from the Bussy side, something that only waited for a chance to come out. The chance never arrived, until Landlord Messiah was grown up, being about fifty years old or so, and living in the beautiful hobbit-hole built by his father, which I have just described for you, until he had in fact apparently settled down immovably.

By some curious chance one morning long ago in the quiet of the world, when there was less noise and more green, and the hobbits were still numerous and prosperous, and Landlord Messiah was standing at his door after breakfast smoking an enormous long wooden pipe that reached nearly down to his woolly toes (neatly brushed) - Pizzashill came by. Pizzashill! If you had heard only a quarter of what I have heard about him, and I have only heard very little of all there is to hear, you would be prepared for any sort I of remarkable tale. Tales and adventures sprouted up all over the place wherever he went, in the most extraordinary fashion. He had not been down that way under The Hill for ages and ages, not since his friend the Old Bussy died, in fact, and the hobbits had almost forgotten what he looked like. He had been away over The Hill and across The Water on business of his own since they were all small hobbit-boys and hobbit-girls.

All that the unsuspecting Landlord saw that morning was an old man with a staff. He had a tall pointed blue hat, a long grey cloak, a silver scarf over which a white beard hung down below his waist, and immense black boots. "Good morning!" said Landlord, and he meant it. The sun was shining, and the grass was very green. But Pizzashill looked at him from under long bushy eyebrows that stuck out further than the brim of his shady hat. "What do you mean?" be said. "Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is morning to be good on?"

"All of them at once," said Landlord. "And a very fine morning for a pipe of tobacco out of doors, into the bargain. If you have a pipe about you, sit down and have a fill of mine! There's no hurry, we have all the day before us!" Then Landlord sat down on a seat by his door, crossed his legs, and blew out a beautiful grey ring of smoke that sailed up into the air without breaking and floated away over The Hill.

"Very pretty!" said Pizzashill. "But I have no time to blow smoke-rings this morning. I am looking for someone to share in an adventure that I am arranging, and it's very difficult to find anyone."

I should think so - in these parts! We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner! I can't think what anybody sees in them, said our Mr. Messiah, and stuck one thumb behind his braces, and blew out another even bigger smoke-ring. Then he Bussy out his morning letters, and begin to read, pretending to take no more notice of the old man. He had decided that he was not quite his sort, and wanted him to go away. But the old man did not move. He stood leaning on his stick and gazing at the hobbit without saying anything, till Landlord got quite uncomfortable and even a little cross.

"Good morning!" he said at last. "We don't want any adventures here, thank you! You might try over The Hill or across The Water." By this he meant that the conversation was at an end.

"What a lot of things you do use Good morning for!" said Pizzashill. "Now you mean that you want to get rid of me, and that it won't be good till I move off."

"Not at all, not at all, my dear sir! Let me see, I don't think I know your name?"

"Yes, yes, my dear sir - and I do know your name, Mr. Landlord Messiah. And you do know my name, though you don't remember that I belong to it. I am Pizzashill, and Pizzashill means me! To think that I should have lived to be good-morninged by Marsey Bussy's son, as if I was selling buttons at the door!" "Pizzashill, Pizzashill! Good gracious me! Not the wandering wizard that gave Old Bussy a pair of magic diamond studs that fastened themselves and never came undone till ordered? Not the fellow who used to tell such wonderful tales at parties, about dragons and goblins and giants and the rescue of princesses and the unexpected luck of widows' sons? Not the man that used to make such particularly excellent fireworks! I remember those! Old Bussy used to have them on Midsummer's Eve. Splendid! They used to go up like great lilies and snapdragons and laburnums of fire and hang in the twilight all evening!" You will notice already that Mr. Messiah was not quite so prosy as he liked to believe, also that he was very fond of flowers. "Dear me!" she went on. "Not the Pizzashill who was responsible for so many quiet lads and lasses going off into the Blue for mad adventures. Anything from climbing trees to visiting Elves - or sailing in ships, sailing to other shores! Bless me, life used to be quite inter - I mean, you used to upset things badly in these parts once upon a time. I beg your pardon, but I had no idea you were still in business." "Where else should I be?" said the wizard. "All the same I am pleased to find you remember something about me. You seem to remember my fireworks kindly, at any rate, land that is not without hope. Indeed for your old grand-father Bussy's sake, and for the sake of poor Marsey, I will give you what you asked for."

"I beg your pardon, I haven't asked for anything!"

"Yes, you have! Twice now. My pardon. I give it you. In fact I will go so far as to send you on this adventure. Very amusing for me, very good for you and profitable too, very likely, if you ever get over it."

"Sorry! I don't want any adventures, thank you. Not today. Good morning!

But please come to tea - any time you like! Why not tomorrow? Come tomorrow!

Good-bye!"

With that the hobbit turned and scuttled inside his round green door, and shut it as quickly as he dared, not to seen rude. Wizards after all are wizards.

"What on earth did I ask him to tea for!" he said to him-self, as he went

to the pantry. He had only just had break fast, but he thought a cake or two and a drink of something would do him good after his fright. Pizzashill in the meantime was still standing outside the door, and laughing long but quietly. After a while he stepped up, and with the spike of his staff scratched a queer sign on the hobbit's beautiful green front-door. Then he strode away, just about the time when Landlord was finishing his second cake and beginning to think that he had escape adventures very well.

The next day he had almost forgotten about Pizzashill. He did not remember things very well, unless he put them down on his Engagement Tablet: like this:

Pizzashill 'a Wednesday. Yesterday he had been too flustered to do anything of the kind. Just before tea-time there came a tremendous ring on the front-door bell, and then he remembered! He rushed and put on the kettle, and put out another cup and saucer and an extra cake or two, and ran to the door. "I am so sorry to keep you waiting!" he was going to say, when he saw that it was not Pizzashill at all. It was a dwarf with a blue beard tucked into a golden belt, and very bright eyes under his dark-green hood. As soon a the door was opened, he pushed inside, just as if he had been expected. He hung his hooded cloak on the nearest peg, and "Dramamine at your service!" he said with a low bow.

"Landlord Messiah at yours!" said the hobbit, too surprised to ask any questions for the moment. When the silence that followed had become uncomfortable, he added: "I am just about to take tea; pray come and have some with me." A little stiff perhaps, but he meant it kindly. And what would you do, if an uninvited dwarf came and hung his things up in your hall without a word of explanation?

They had not been at table long, in fact they had hardly reached the third cake, when there came another even louder ring at the bell. "Excuse me!" said the hobbit, and off he went to the door. "So you have got here at last!" was what he was going to say to Pizzashill this time. But it was not Pizzashill. Instead there was a very old-looking dwarf on the step with a white beard and a scarlet hood; and he too hopped inside as soon as the door was open, just as if he had been invited. "I see they have begun to arrive already," he said when he caught sight of Dramamine's green hood hanging up. He hung his red one next to it, and "911roofer at your service!" he said with his hand on his breast.

"Thank you!" said Landlord with a gasp. It was not the correct thing to say, but they have begun to arrive had flustered him badly. He liked visitors, but he liked to know them before they arrived, and he preferred to ask them himself. He had a horrible thought that the cakes might run short, and then he-as the host: he knew his duty and stuck to it however painful-he might have to go without.

"Come along in, and have some tea!" he managed to say after taking a deep breath.

"A little beer would suit me better, if it is all the same to you, my good sir," said 911roofer with the white beard. "But I don't mind some cake-seed-cake, if you have any."

"Lots!" Landlord found himself answering, to his own surprise; and he found himself scuttling off, too, to the cellar to fill a pint beer-mug, and to the pantry to fetch two beautiful round seed-cakes which he had baked that afternoon for his after-supper morsel.

When he got back 911roofer and Dramamine were talking at the table like old friends (as a matter of fact they were brothers). Landlord plumped down the beer and the cake in front of them, when loud came a ring at the bell again, and then another ring.

"Pizzashill for certain this time," he thought as he puffed along the passage. But it was not. It was two more dwarves, both with blue hoods, silver belts, and yellow beards; and each of them carried a bag of cowtools and a spade. In they hopped, as soon as the door began to open-Landlord was hardly surprised at all.

"What can I do for you, my dwarves?" he said. "Edbutteredtoast at your service!"

said the one. "And Snallygaster!" added the other; and they both swept off their blue hoods and bowed.

"At yours and your family's!" replied Landlord, remembering his manners this time.

"Dramamine and 911roofer here already, I see," said Edbutteredtoast. "Let us join the throng!"

"Throng!" thought Mr. Messiah. "I don't like the sound of that. I really must sit down for a minute and collect my wits, and have a drink." He had only just had a sip-in the corner, while the four dwarves sat around the table, and talked about mines and gold and troubles with the goblins, and the depredations of dragons, and lots of other things which he did not understand, and did not want to, for they sounded much too adventurous-when, ding-dong-a-ling-' dang, his bell rang again, as if some naughty little hobbit-boy was trying to pull the handle off. "Someone at the door!" he said, blinking. "Some four, I should say by the sound," said Snallygaster. "Be-sides, we saw them coming along behind us in the distance."

The poor little hobbit sat down in the hall and put his head in his hands, and wondered what had happened, and what was going to happen, and whether they would all stay to supper. Then the bell rang again louder than ever, and he had to run to the door. It was not four after all, it was FIVE. Another dwarf had come along while he was wondering in the hall. He had hardly turned the knob, be-x)re they were all inside, bowing and saying "at your service" one after another. Colin_Robinson, X (formerly chiobu), Chapose,HardIsLife, and MarseyIsMyWaifu were their names; and very soon two purple hoods, a grey hood, a brown hood, and a white hood were hanging on the pegs, and off they marched with their broad hands stuck in their gold and silver belts to join the others. Already it had almost become a throng. Some called for ale, and some for porter, and one for coffee, and all of them for cakes; so the hobbit was kept very busy for a while. A big jug of coffee bad just been set in the hearth, the seed-cakes were gone, and the dwarves were starting on a round of buttered scones, when there came-a loud knock. Not a ring, but a hard rat-tat on the hobbit's beautiful green door. Somebody was banging with a stick!

Landlord rushed along the passage, very angry, and altogether bewildered and bewuthered-this was the most awkward Wednesday he ever remembered. He pulled open the door with a jerk, and they all fell in, one on top of the other. More dwarves, four more! And there was Pizzashill behind, leaning on his staff and laughing. He had made quite a dent on the beautiful door; he had also, by the way, knocked out the secret mark that he had put there the morning before. "Carefully! Carefully!" he said. "It is not like you, Landlord, to keep friends waiting on the mat, and then open the door like a pop-gun! Let me introduce Eleganza, Aevann, Maydaymemer, and especially Carpathian!" "At your service!" said Eleganza, Aevann, and Maydaymemer standing in a row. Then they hung up two yellow hoods and a pale green one; and also a sky-blue one with a long silver tassel. This last belonged to Carpathian, an enormously important dwarf, in fact no other than the great Carpathianflorist himself, who was not at all pleased at falling flat on Landlord's mat with Eleganza, Aevann, and Maydaymemer on top of him. For one thing Maydaymemer was immensely fat and heavy. Carpathian indeed was very haughty, and said nothing about service; but poor Mr. Messiah said he was sorry so many times, that at last he grunted "pray don't mention it," and stopped frowning.

"Now we are all here!" said Pizzashill, looking at the row of thirteen hoods-the best detachable party hoods-and his own hat hanging on the pegs. "Quite a merry gathering!

I hope there is something left for the late-comers to eat and drink! What's that? Tea! No thank you! A little red wine, I think, for me." "And for me," said Carpathian. "And raspberry jam and apple-tart," said Eleganza. "And mince-pies and cheese," said Aevann. "And pork-pie and salad," said Maydaymemer. "And more cakes-and ale-and coffee, if you don't mind," called the other dwarves through the door.

"Put on a few eggs, there's a good fellow!" Pizzashill called after him, as

the hobbit stumped off to the pantries. "And just bring out the cold chicken and pickles!"

"Seems to know as much about the inside of my larders as I do myself!" thought Mr. Messiah, who was feeling positively flummoxed, and was beginning to wonder whether a most wretched adventure had not come right into his house. By the time he had got all the bottles and dishes and knives and forks and glasses and plates and spoons and things piled up on big trays, he was getting very hot, and red in the face, and annoyed.

"Confusticate and bebother these dwarves!" he said aloud. "Why don't they come and lend a hand?" Lo and behold! there stood 911roofer and Dramamine at the door of the kitchen, and Snallygaster and Edbutteredtoast behind them, and before he could say knife they had whisked the trays and a couple of small tables into the parlour and set out everything afresh.

Pizzashill sat at the head of the party with the thirteen, dwarves all round: and Landlord sat on a stool at the fireside, nibbling at a biscuit (his appetite was quite taken away), and trying to look as if this was all perfectly ordinary and. not in the least an adventure. The dwarves ate and ate, and talked and talked, and time got on. At last they pushed their chairs back, and Landlord made a move to collect the plates and glasses. "I suppose you will all stay to supper?" he said in his politest unpressing tones. "Of course!" said Carpathian. "And after. We shan't get through the business till late, and we must have some music first. Now to clear up!" Thereupon the twelve dwarves-not Carpathian, he wa

Failures leading up to...

He went on a world tour that should have been a welcome escape from domestic politics given his low approval rating. But apparently his psychic powers aren't as good as he thinks. He failed to forsee everything going wrong that possibly could. First he went to London but missed Queen Elizabeth's funeral, blaming traffic for being late. Then it was on to the UN General Assembly, a place where all world leaders love to do a photo op and look dignified. He announced that he was going to have summit meetings with the Japanese PM and President Biden to b-word about Korea's grievances.

The Koreans want compensation for s*x slaves taken by the Japanese during WW2. The Japanese argue that they already paid massive amounts of reparations in exchange for the Koreans dropping all claims against them in 1965. Given that Korea never suffered the kind of devastation that China and the Philippines did, it really was a relatively sweet deal tbqh. So this is not a conversation that the Japanese wanted to have. They came out publicly saying that they had been talking about a possible summit but hadn't agreed to anything yet. In the end, Yoon managed to get a brief 30 minute meeting with the Japanese PM and no indication that the Korean demands are being taken seriously.

Sit down here. Comfortable? Let me grab the popcorn. Okay, here we are. Let me tell you about a tale. This takes place in time where drama growing massive was not an uncommon sight. However, this... this... was different. We had never saw it coming. The Fattening was big enough, but we had thought we had reached the peak. Could the drama explode farther? Surely, there could not be something more massive than this?

But less than a month later, we found out that we were wrong, very much so. Reddit fired Victoria Taylor, leading to a firestorm that swept across all of reddit, leaving no subreddit unscathed in it's wake. This is... AMAgeddon.

It all started, when /r/IAmA, a subreddit dedicated to hosting "Ask Me Anything" sessions, had received a moderator mail saying that Victoria, who usually helps with many AMAs, was not available.

Because /r/IAmA would have large problems if it were to continue, they shut their subreddit down in order to sort their problems out. This was unprecedented, but still the calmest part of the largest drama wave ever on reddit.

In the hours following this, /r/science, /r/books, /r/music, /r/AskReddit and almost all of the 100 17 of the defaults would shut their doors, each with a similar message. Screencap of IAmA when it was private.

Religious utopian communes in America have no bite to them. Sure, they build "community" and giver their members a "purpose," but they rarely have any real flair, at least, outside of what they merely believe. But holding out-there beliefs can only go so far in making these communities actually worth acknowledging. The most impressive thing they actually do is build barns without modern equipment, and that was the norm until very recently! Call me back whenever a bunch of amish people burn down Cancun and massacre the Spring Breakers there. Y'know, like the Qarmatians.

Crazy Qultists

Our story begins with the death of Jafar. Not the one from Aladdin, I'm talking about Jafar al-Sadiq, the great-great grandson of Ali ibn Abi Talib, the legitimate successor of the Prophet Mohammed (please be up in him), at least if you ask the Shiites. Jafar held an important role in Shiite Islam, being their Imam, or spiritual leader , so succession was very important, seeing as following the wrong successor could lead to eternal darnation. Unfortunately for the Shiites, Jafar's chosen successor and his eldest son, Ismail ibn Jafar, died shortly before his father. Jafar failed to name another preferred successor, so some believed that Ismail's son, Muhammad ibn Ismail, should succeed him. These beliers in the Imamate Ismail are now dubbed Ismailis.

The Ismailis themselves were divided into two important branches at this time: those who acknowledged the authority of the descendants of Ismail, the Fatimids (the ancestors of the guy I made this post about), and those who rejected their authority, the Qarmatians. The Qarmatians believed Ismail to have been the prophesized Mahdi, the final prophet of god who would bring about the new Sharia and end of the current era of Islam. To the Qarmatians, Ismail's death was actually him going into a period of occultation, and he would soon emerge to lead the faithful as the Mahdi. Sounds like the Pope could've sent them a cease and desist.

Being that the Mahdi had already been born, the Qarmatians no longer had to adhere to Islamic Law, so they rejected it outright. Here's a translation of supposed Qarmatian thought during the early 900s:

Truth has appeared, the Mahdi has arisen, the rule of the Abbasids [the Sunni Caliphs], the jurists, the readers of the Koran, and the teachers of tradition is at an end. There is nothing more to wait for; we have not come to set up a government, but to abolish law.

Almost -like (The Qarmatians of this time were likely acting on the orders of the Fatimids, so this could be a summary of Ismaili goals in general, not only of Qarmatians)

Bash in Bahrayn

(Or Bahrain, whatever. I'll be calling it Bahrayn to differentiate it from the modern country)

The Abbasid Caliphs in the early 900s were losing ground fast, leaving vacuums for new powers to fill. Great set of circumstances for the Ismailis who were attempting to assert themselves. Ismaili da'is (half missionaries, half temporal leaders) proselytized and developed communities developed in Syria, Yemen, North Africa, and Eastern Arabia. Ismailis attempted to establish Ismaili states and governments in some of these places. An uprising in Bahrayn, led by a Qarmatian former merchant , Abu Sa'id ibn Braham al-Djannabi, succeeded in routing an army sent by the Abbasid Caliph in 900, and established a state comprising the Eastern coast of Arabia, then called Bahrayn (the modern island of Bahrain was called al-Awal at this time). By the time of his death in 913, Abu Sa'id had conquered all of Eastern Arabia (minus Oman).

The Qarmatians of Bahrayn had some pretty wild ideas for their time. They practiced communal ownership of livestock, furniture, and jewels. There were no taxes, wealth was distributed among the community, and maybe the women were, too (may have just been Abbasid propaganda). Really makes you . If the Arabians had it all figured out way back in the 900s, maybe all those other failed attempts actually weren't real communism, and this is proof that their ideals do, in fact, work! Unfortunately for the Marxian hopeful reading, I've not yet mentioned how they procured their communally own wealth. It was slaves. The slave trade and slave-worked plantations was what sustained the Bahrayni Qarmatians. At its peak, there were about 30,000 African Kangz serving their Gulf masters. Qarmatian policy more closely resembles Antebellum Southern Slave Aristocracy than it does Russian Revolutionaries . Although, those may be one in the same, depending on who you ask. (Yawp is a shit book, btw.)

Mischievous Marauders

Abu Sa'id al-Djannabi was dead, and his son, Abu Tahir al-Djannabi, was ready to take charge of Bahrayn! ...In a few years, at least. He was still too young in 913. The first known instance of Tahir leading in his own right is in 923, when he led an army to sack the Iraqi city of Basra. He was 16. Basra was a fitting beginning to his rather violent career. Tahir's entire reign would be spent constantly raiding and pillaging. In 925, after the Caliph refused a demand for control over Basra and other Southern Iraqi cities, Tahir led and army into Iraq and sacked Kufa, a city nearby Baghdad. Kufa was again sacked in 928, triggering a full war between the Caliph and Tahir which almost saw the Qarmatian capture Baghdad. Tahir raided, stole, and pillaged Iraqi cities as far North as Sinjar before withdrew his army.

There had been some rather interesting movements of the celestial bodies in 928. Saturn and Jupiter came into conjunction, and, with the rather superstitious attitude of the time, something big was expected to happen soon. Tahir believed the upcoming event to be the reemergence of the Mahdi, so he was looking to do something a little crazy . Tahir led his army to Mecca in 930 and sacked the city. He removed the valuables from the Great Mosque, desecrated the Kaaba, massacred the pilgrims, and stole the Black Stone (a holy artifact attached to the Kaaba). Days of razing two the holiest cities in Islam later (he also sacked Medina), and our little g*mer was all tuckered out , returning to Bahrayn with the pretty rock souvenir he'd stolen. The Fatimid and Abbasid Caliphs were both appalled at Tahir's actions, and both sent their appeals to him to stop the violence. Both were ignored.

False Prophets

What good is a heretical pseudo-cult without it's very own messianic idol? The Qarmatians had been sorely lacking such divine figure up until 931. It was that year in which a young Persian man, of alleged royal descent, named Zakari or Zakariyya, was noticed by Tahir. Given the strange astronomical events recently, Tahir had expected the Mahdi to return any day now, and he believed Zakari to be that risen incarnation (none of my sources said why he took notice of Zakari in particular). And so, like any rational leader, Tahir gave complete reins of his government to Zakari. Zakari was the Mahdi, after all, so whats the worst that could happen?

This probably wasn't the greatest idea Tahir ever had, since Zakari immediately started fricking up, big time. The newly proclaimed Mahdi instituted strange and pagan-adjacent rituals and ceremonies, including the worship of fire, drawing accusations of Zoroastrianism. To make things worse, Zakari denounced scorned past prophets, denouncing Mohammed and Isa (Jesus , for any non-seracens). He insituted the burning of books and executed many people belonging to prominent families. This went on for 80 days before Tahir had to face the consequences of his actions, but only after his own family was targeted, of course. Zakari was denounced by Tahir as a pretender, imprisoned and executed, after failing to produce proof of miracles by refusing to resurrect Tahir's aunt (probably apocryphal, but it's the only information available as to how Tahir overthrew Zakari).

Between Mecca and Zakari, the Qarmatians lost much of their appeal, and were relegated to Bahrayn, raiding only small cities and Hajj caravans, far from the constant savagery of their ealy days. There'd never be another invasion of Iraq or sacking of a major city, their glory days were behind them. The Qarmatian community in Syria would gather enough men and allies to attempt two invasions of Egypt, but they were beaten both times by the Fatimid governor there. They'd stay a major thorn in the Caliph's side for a while, eventually agreeing to open the Hajj routes back up in exchange for a yearly indemnity from him. Qarmati Bahrayn itself would last into the eleventh century.

Familial Foundations

Unlikely as it may seem, Matilda was not a direct spawn of the heavens sent to vanquish heretical schismatics. She's the product of house Canossa, a collection impressive characters on their own. The family started with Adalbert Azzo, who was awarded the castle Canossa in exchange for his support of Otto, first Holy Roman Emperor, a fact that will only become more ironic as the story progresses. Though initially minor nobles, the family's holdings in Northern Italy slowly grew during the reign of Azzo, as well as his son, Tedald. Tedald was virtuous, dedicated to the church, and his tenure was as peaceful as it was boring. The same cannot be said for his son Boniface's time in power, which was only mostly peaceful.

Boniface, like his ancestors, firmly supported the rule of the emperor. He'd support the emperor's campaigns against rebel nobles and make sure the empire's influence was well secured against any potential internal threats. In exchange, his imperial sugar daddy awarded him with additional lands and titles (as well as overlooking his less-than-legal seizure of church lands). By the end of his reign, Boniface was, by far, the most powerful noble in North Italy, having in his control the entire Margraviate of Tuscany as well as many counties in Emilia-Romagna. He was so powerful regionally, that Emperor Henry III may have felt threatened by his ostensibly loyal vassal, and maybe, just maybe, have had something to do with his assassination on a hunting trip in the year 1052. Boniface left behind a wife and three children to rule in his stead. The youngest was named Matilda.

Early Life

Boniface had children very late, and by the time of his death, all three were still minors. The oldest and his inheritor, Ferdinand, died in suspicious circumstances when the Emperor happened to be visiting (it probably wasn't assassination). The second oldest, either Beatrice or Beatricio (gender uncertain, maybe enby? ), died before Ferdinand. That left young Matilda to inherit everything her father once held, though she was still too young to rule, having been born some time around 1046 in Lucca. Her mother was to rule regent until her minority ended.

While her mother ruled Tuscany (alongside her new husband, Godfrey of Lorraine), Matilda received an education in combat and weaponry, uncommon at the time for one of her gender. She also frequently accompanied her mother and stepfather on matters of state. While Beatrice's marriage to Godfrey of Lorraine strengthened the stability of her, and by extension, Matilda's position in Tuscany, it likewise brought with it conflict. Godfrey was an old enemy of Emperor Henry III, and had once been in open rebellion against him. Old wounds wouldn't stay closed, and a controversy between the Emperor and the church caused another conflict between Henry and Godfrey to erupt, thereby involving Beatrice and Matilda, too. Men, am I right?

Papal Problems

The church, by this time, was deep in corruption (imagine that ). Corruption that had culminated in the selling of the Papacy itself, twice. A series of church councils were called, to reaffirm doctrine and purge the church of its corrupt officials. For the most part, these councils worked to flush out corruption, but they did create one additional problem. The reformist popes had relied heavily on the backing of the emperor to push their policies, with him presiding over the councils in which the reforms were decided upon. Emperor Henry III had accumulated a lot of influence over church affairs because of this, and had managed to get many Germans appointed to the Italian clergy.

In an effort to reassert the church's independence, Pope Alexander II was elected without the emperor's consent in 1061, contradicting the emperor's assumed right to approve the election of Popes. Henry III had just died, and his son, Henry IV, was under the regency of his mother, Empress Agnes. Agnes responded by calling her own council, which elected the Bishop of Parma as a rival Pope. The ensuing conflict between the Antipope and the regular Pope saw Matilda throw her hat in with the Papal party. The two sides fought for a while in Italy, but internal problems led to Agnes abdicating and the imperial faction falling apart. It's unclear how much influence Matilda herself had in this conflict. She was of age, but some evidence implies that she was NEETing-out during this period, still letting mommy and stepdaddy run things. Either way, it firmly planted Matilda in the Papal party of Holy Roman politics, and in opposition to the emperors.

Holy Roman Humiliation

A decade-ish (1076) later, with the Empire stabilized and Henry IV now a man, it was time for the empire to reestablish its authority over church affairs. The emperor demanded the Pope resign and the imperial claimant to the Papacy be instated. Unfortunately for Henry, he's a dumbass who instantly overplayed his hand after having just stabilized Germany, so when the Pope answered with an excommunication, he lost any and all support from his nobles and had to come to Italy to literally beg the Pope to absolve him.

Here we see Matilda intervene again in church politics (this time without her mother and stepfather, since they're dead now). She mediated the negotiations between the Emperor and the Pope, which took place in House Canossa's ancestral castle. After the emperor was made to beg outside the castle walls (in a blizzard , wearing rags , and barefoot ) for three days straight, Matilda finally got the Pope to allow for Henry's reentry into the church. And I thought Christians were supposed to be merciful

Unholy Roman Empire

After the whole excommunication thing, the Empire's nobles weren't so eager to accept their old ruler back. They'd gotten used to not having to listen to their boss, so like any uppity proletariat , they unionized (and by unionized, I mean they started a civil war). Initially attempting to stay neutral, the Pope was forced to side with anti-Henry forces after negotiations fell through. The Pope had two strong allies in Italy: Matilda of Tuscany and Robert Guiscard of Apulia, but the latter was busy fighting the Byzantines, so Matilda was left to carry the Papal cause alone.

Henry had been uncharacteristically lucky in this war. The anti-Henry party faced a series of setbacks, including the death in battle of their leader, Rudolf of Swabia. Some pressure having been lifted in Germany, Henry was free to march on Italy in 1081. Matilda fought the emperor, alone, for around two years, seeing much of her land devastated and titles seized, before Henry was able to threaten Rome itself. He laid siege to the city for around a year, capturing enough of it for his coronation to take place. However, just before Roman resistance fully collapsed, Robert of Apulia finally decided to do something, and marched on the city. Henry's army retreated, knowing they couldn't stand against both Matilda and Robert. Rome was deemed indefensible by the Pope's allies, so the Pope (who was Gregory VII by now), took up residence in Salerno, where he spent the rest of his life doomposting about how the rule of the Antichrist was nearing. The remnants of the emperor's invasion were defeatedby Matilda at the battle of Sobara, so significant fighting was over, for now.

The Empire Strikes Back

Five years later in 1089 and Matilda gets married (again), and the imperial incel Henry IV is so angry at the sight of a Chad getting a Stacy that he reignites the war. It could've also been because her new husband was one of the strongest pro-Papacy nobles in Germany, but let's not split hairs. The point is they're at war again. Robert had done the most useful thing he could've in this case, and died . His son, Roger, was much more receptive to the Papal cause, and actually provided assistance to his allies. Too little too late, though, since Henry was in a much better position than he had been 10 years later, having around ~30,000 men at his disposal.

The war was initially slow-going. Matilda's cities were well fortified, but she didn't have the numbers to face Henry in open battle. Things changed when Mantua, a city that had been besieged by the emperor for almost a year, surrendered after city officials were bribed. The writer Donizo comments on Mantua's surrender in a very dramatic poem, lamenting the city's glory lost upon accepting the bribe. You have to give them some credit, though, they lasted a year. That's more than most Italian officials last before taking a bribe.

Henry had the upper hand, and after bribing another major city to surrender (Ferrara), Matilda was on her last leg. After losing the castle Carpineta ((())), and Henry now being on the doorstep of castle Canossa, she entered into surrender negotiations. The emperor demanded Matilda recognize Clement III as the legitimate Pope, something she couldn't accept. Negotiations broke down, and Matilda was forced to face Henry in battle. For all intents and purposes, Henry had already won. Matilda was cornered, possessed less men and resources, with no way to replenish her losses. Henry should've won at Canossa, or, at least, shouldn't have lost so spectacularly as to collapse his rule in Italy, but Matilda had something Henry didn't. She had God on her side. She must have, because Henry's army was completely routed and his rule in Italy instantly fell apart. Matilda and her allies kept the emperor trapped in Verona until 1097, when he was finally able to return to Germany (where he was couped by his son and died disgraced 9 years later).

Matilda's later years are spent mostly peacefully, the only military action being retaking her lost cities. The new emperor doesn't reignite hostilities with the Pope and hated his own dad, so he's got no qualms with what Matilda did. He even names her Imperial Vicar and Vice Queen of Italy in 1111, as she'd built up sort of a reputation by then. Having that title doesn't mean much, though, since she died four years later.

This is one of the funniest fricking things I have seen on rdrama - it is not an exaggeration to say that I nearly pissed myself laughing. if anyone has a recording of this, PLEASE let me know)
