Sudden movement in the sports subs to ban twitter seems to be emerging. r/hockey and others.

It seems there is a movement on a lot of the sports subreddits. Especially Canadian hockey subreddits to ban twitter links.

hockey https://old.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/1i6h6sm/can_we_ban_twitter_links_now/

They all seem to be getting massive support and upmarseys. Some subreddits like hockey are user proposed but others like the Maple Leafs sub are being hosted by the mods.

leafs https://old.reddit.com/r/leafs/comments/1i6kj05/subreddit_discussion_should_we_ban_twitter_links/

This extends beyond hockey though. Liverpool football club has the post locked down while the mods discuss. Same situation with Manchester United

Liverpool https://old.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/1i6gym0/proposal_to_ban_xcom_links/

RedDevils https://old.reddit.com/r/reddevils/comments/1i6idm3/proposal_to_ban_xcom_links/

I have nothing extra to add but here's Vancouver Canucks sub too just to show that it's a lot of subreddits.

Canucks https://old.reddit.com/r/canucks/comments/1i6kc8y/can_we_also_ban_xtwitter_links_from_this_sub/

Lots of discussion of Elon of course but a lot of people also just pointing out that X links are simply trash anyway and suck to use.

Some of these posts seem to be getting brigaded according to the mods at reddevils.

Bournemouth FC https://old.reddit.com/r/AFCBournemouth/comments/1i6h58l/proposal_to_ban_x_links/

Edit 2:

Chelsea got it's own post and the main mod who literally calls himself the "emperor/autocrat" of the subreddit immediately shut it down but is getting called out. https://old.reddit.com/r/chelseafc/comments/1i6hprq/proposal_to_ban_xcom_links/

New mod seems to have taken over the stickied comment now. Saying that they are discussing it internally.

Original mod refusing.

New mod saying they'll discuss it.

[🤓🔘🔘🔘🔘] Why can't Thor just admit to not playing mage well on Diremaul?

Why cant people stop brigading? Dude didn't even stream today yet this sub has been spammed by this bullshit today. Maybe you all should just go outside instead of constantly slandering someone else over a fricking video game. (37)

I respect Thor a ton. This just isn't a good look. Just accept blame and move on. It's a game. Why does Thor need to diffuse responsibility when he has stated the mage's blizzard ability and other tech are specifically there to save groups in dungeons? He knows about lvl 1 abilities saving mana. He knew he had a mana gem. He knew the group was trying to survive. Just say you made mistakes and move on. (-36)

Slandering? Really? Maybe you and Thor should learn to take a little criticism instead of Streisand effecting this drama. (-24)

Angriness: 😡😡😡😡😡

Calling Thor a roach in WOW context is appropriate considering dude just ran. Obviously hate brigading and death threats isn't ok but none of that would've happened if Thor took accountability, didn't handle this drama in the worst way possible and didn't triple down despite being wrong. It's a classic example of Streisand effect in action. (-20)

The frick are you doing bro?The group had members who just woke up. They went in for a run completely unprepared and forgot all the items they needed to do the strat they wanted to do. They nearly wiped due to idiocy but escaped. A short while later, they went back in and AGAIN were unprepared and not paying any attention. They pulled 2 packs and the boss. At this point - the run was already fricked by the other players lack of competence. The call went out to run, again, and the group started to bail.Pirate was not wanting to get caught in the mess that an unprepared and unaware group had caused for a second time. Yes, he was also chatting and didn't call out the boss incoming, but it isn't a mages job to control where the tank pulls mobs to fight. While they fled, before it was clear they were completely screwed, the idiot druid started yelling asking "The frick are you doing bro", and calling people back to 'salvage' the fight. (He caused the healers death through this because of a ca... (6)

Angriness: 😡😡😡😡🔘

Dude. It's a fricking game. (6)

To be fair it's just a game doesn't work in this particular instance since it's wow HC. Idk if you know much about wow HC but it's an mmo that you decided to turn on perma death. Still takes dozens or hundreds of hours to get anywhere and you can lose all that in just a moment because other people made mistakes. It is crazy to me to play perma death in an mmo but it's fair to say you cant use "it's just a game" in this kind of situation. (-1)

Angriness: 😡😡😡😡🔘

Because this is a game culture he has grown up in and was shaped by. I do not understand why people are surprised. Thor comes across as a really cool guy when he's dealing with the business side of streaming, or his ferrets or anything else. He was a peepee in that dungeon, and probably a peepee in Eve ( I didn't play Eve). Plenty of people are kind of peepees in video games. This isn't uncommon, he's a good player and being a good player he gets a bit of an ego that he's a really good player. And then something goes wrong and he makes a bad call, and that bad call leads to two or three more bad calls. Someone in his guild is probably going to DM him when this cools down going "hey man, you were kind of a peepee for this" And that will be the end of this because this is a completely normal interaction in any hobby where you stress yourself out for fun. According to plaintiffs' counsel, Meta engineer Nikolay Bashlykov, who works on the Llama research team, wrote a script to remove copyright info, including the word "copyright" and "acknowledgments," from e-books in LibGen. Maro's final word on DEI in Magic

Right, there's nothing productive to be had in terms of discussion here, and I don't think you guys even care at this point either to try.

Call it whatever stupid buzzword you want - Woke, DEI, PC, SJW, or whatever dumb term people come up with next week. I don't care. The term means, always has meant, and always WILL mean "Not being an butthole to someone because they're different to you."

Don't pretend that the old stories were fine just having black or gay people - Because buttholes complained about that then, just like you are complaining about it now. The reality is, people who are not the same skin colour, sexual orientation, gender, lifestyle, size, physical ability, etc etc, than you, Exist. They always have, and always will.

Culture including people with different characteristics to you IS NOT A SLIGHT. They are not doing it to offend you, or to "gaslamp you" or whatever nonsense the Anti Woke Brigade has come up with this week. These characters are being created so that the real human beings who have those differences, have someone to look at and go "Hey this guy's like me!" That's it. That's the whole thing. It's just about making everybody feel welcome.

If you want to complain about this, I encourage you to send us a modmail. But this thread is locked, and you know darn well why.

>We drank it growing up and didn't get sick....Flys were a problem in warmer weather and you would have to pick them out of the milk...Sometimes it had cow poo on it.

Make Americans drink poop milk again!

>Been drinking it for years, I still drink it when it is a bit old and goes a bit sour after 1-2 weeks. There is no health risk, it is all cap to protect the interests of large dairy producers...it reduces the enzymes and good bacteria, it reduces nutrients and makes it taste worse...Raw milk goes sour faster but even if it goes sour there is very low health risk. If a milk is cooked/heated and then it goes sour, that is where you get the toxic bacteria.

Milk souring is a separate process from spoiling, as it occurs when lactose splits into different acids. But with that falsehood out of the way, I'm sure this genius knows a lot about microbiology. He could definitely name the good/bad bacterias he's talking about straight from memory, doubly so for his nutrients and enzymes.

>A commercial food producer gives listeria or e-coli and recalls multiple product lines and nobody bats an eye. But some small farmer who has everything to lose tries to sell raw milk and everyone loses their mind.

:marseysociety:

People have been drinking raw milk for thousands of years.

People have been eating fermented milk products for thousands a year, leading some, not all, to develop a gene that prolongs their infantile ability to break down lactose based on the trace amounts found in processed milk. Dairy producing countries pre-pasturation did not have raw milk drinking cultural traditions outside of farmland, as refridgeration to slow down the growth of bacteria of raw milk didn't exactly exist.

>Raw milk actually has good and useful bacteria as well as vitamins and nutrients that get destroyed in the Pasteurizing process.

Such as? What are they? How much is lost?

A true blue fentposter /u/Cliphdiver adds:

>Ive been drinking raw milk since 1972, you whippersnappers. And Ive lived on a farm all my life. The raw milk scare began when factories started operating near farms. Google it. When the Govt got involved, they decided to kill everything in milk, no more problems. Now your drinking white water for $4 a gallon. (With some vitamins thrown in) You dont need any fancy equipment. Just a healthy cow and a bucket. BEWARE: make darn sure you double filter it (straining) to catch anything that may have fallen in the bucket during milk process. ENJOY and f"@K the FDA!

Is it safe or does it need to be strained? I hope they have a strainer from the future that can filter microbes smaller than milk's existing fats.

>There used to be underground markets selling raw milk because it was so sought after. Imagine actual swat teams showing up to raid the shops to "protect" us. I'm not on either side of whether its safe or not; I just don't understand why the government would interfere and say raw milk is illegal.

Past ignorance does not somehow make the repeating the same stupidity less ignorant. The police comes because raw milk farmers are a threat to society, and honestly they should be shot where they stand so we don't have to hear them whining that they can't profit off selling people dangerous bullshit. Libertarians can't comprehend this because they're stupid enough to be libertarians in the first place.

/u/huntsvillekan posts the following legitament historical account detailing why you can't trust dairy farmers not to kill people, ergo why they must be regulated by force under capitalism: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/surprisingly-intolerant-history-milk-180969056/

Some highlights: 8000 yearly deaths in NYC from unregulated milk farmers, "The Greeks castigated barbarians for their gluttonous desire for dairy...in Rome, milk was widely regarded as low-status food because it was something only farmers drank," "

It would take both technological innovation and a change in social mores to popularize animal milk...milk was one of the first foods to be truly affected by industrialization"

So is mass milk drinking thousands of years old and ubiquitous, or a product of the industrial revolution. Anyway...

/u/chobbs2006 comes in explaining how raw milk is their latest schizo-cure to the new in-vogue hypochondriac illness: GERD! :marseyfart:

>I've been drinking Jersey A2 raw milk for about 10 months, in addition to my plant-free diet. I add in 2 to 3 oz of heavy whipping cream into 8 to 10 oz of raw milk. It's been amazing so far! I feel like it's healing my gut. I used to have really bad gerd, what's the diet took mostly care of, But now I am able to have a little bit of fruit or honey if I wish and not get heartburn anymore. What makes it unsafe are too primary things, how it is harvested, ie the hygiene and sanitation of the farm, and the cold chain. But I'm also about to make some raw kefir, can't wait

It's like these fad-diet chasers come out of a factory somewhere

Most of the remaining commenters of note just have anecdotes about living on a farm, drinking raw milk, and using a fricking cheesecloth on their already contaminated milk to get the shit-chunks out.

Happy drinking! :#marseychocolatemilk:
