For me, it's that Peter Parker has been consistently depicted as a straight white man for over 60 years, with only female love interests. Even Stan Lee himself confirmed this. He respected the LGBTQ+ community but believed in keeping characters true to their original vision. There's nothing wrong with Peter staying the way he's always been.

People often bring up alternate universes, but what they don't realize is that it usually starts with an alternate version before it eventually affects the main canon. And to be clear, I have no problem with a bisexual or trans Spider-Man. Anyone can wear the mask, and that's the beauty of the character. It doesn't matter how you look, where you're from, or who you love—Spider-Man's message has always been about inclusivity.

That said, I think it's perfectly fine for Peter Parker to remain a straight white male. That's who he has been for decades, and his love interests have always been women. A lot of fans just want to see him and MJ finally get married and have kids while he still plays a major role in the story. He's already passed the torch in a way with Miles, but that doesn't mean Peter shouldn't still have great stories of his own.

Why do so many liberal women date conservative men

Long time lurker of this sub but thought to make this post. For preface I am a liberal guy but am bisexual. Currently in a great relationship with a guy and not interested in dating women. So this isn't a "why don't women date me" post.

So I've been pretty involved in liberal politics in my adult life. Been to plenty of protests, rallies and even worked for a democrat running for local office. Due to this my social circle is filled with like minded people including plenty of women.

Over the years it seems that every single one of my female friends has brought around a conservative boyfriend at some point. Some of them have held their views secret but all of us could tell through comments and obvious discomfort with our political views. Others have been outwardly conservative both in person and on social media.

Recently a female friend started dating a die hard MAGA guy. The type of dude who wears a MAGA hat to the grocery store. Lets just say I was shocked. This was the same girl who went to protests and was outwardly anti MAGA. I asked her and her response was "oh he's only MAGA because he cares about the economy" when his social media is filled with posts that were everything she hated.

I understand that people's views can change but it seems like a really abrupt 180. Going from "I'd never date a conservative guy" to "oh he just cares about the economy" within days.

I've done some internet lurking about it and lots of posts say its a masculinity thing. Conservative men tend to fall into traditional masculinity a lot more (financial provider, family values and such). I'm wondering if any Gen Z women can shed some light on this?

An east London councillor has been charged with perverting the course of justice by allegedly trying to influence a 16-year-old girl into dropping her allegation of r*pe.

Abdul Malik, 50, who represents Blackwall and Cubitt Town ward on Tower Hamlets Council, was due to appear at Thames magistrates court on Friday to face the charge for the first time.

It is said he "contacted the father of a 16-year-old complainant of r*pe and told him to get his daughter to drop the charges against the male alleged to have r*ped her and get him out of custody, which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice".

The incident is alleged to have happened on January 23. The father and aunt of the suspected male feminist are accused of also intervening two weeks earlier.

Abdul Roqib, 45, is accused of contacting the 16-year-old on January 10 "to ask her to drop the charges against his son, which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice".

Rahela Begum, 41, is also accused of also contacting the girl on the same day to allegedly try to convince her to withdraw from the criminal case.

All three defendants are due to appear in court to face a charge of committing an act or series of acts with intent to pervert the course of public justice.

Malik sits on Tower Hamlets council for the Aspire Party, which is led by the borough's directly-elected Mayor Lutfur Rahman.

He currently sits as chair of the Human Resources Committee, and also has a seat on the licensing committee, having first been elected to the council in 2022.

It is understood Malik, of Mercury Walk, Tower Hamlets, Roqib, of Warrior Square in Manor Park, and Begum, of Rye Road in Hoddesdon, were held in custody before their court hearing.
