Backstory

So, I recently got bored. Nothing new to listen to until Blanck Mass’ new album comes along. Spotify keeps recommending me k-pop and I gave in. Not only do I have bad taste in music but I also have bad taste in YouTube content. One of my favorite content on YouTube is talentless people reacting to stuff. Sometimes I don’t even watch the original music video, I just watch someone reacting to it.

Cringe emasculating Asian American male channels

While watching the reaction of these K-pooop music videos, I came across several Asian American YouTube channels. They all sit around holding cute plushies giggling like 12 year old girls who just discovered half naked Idris Elba pictures. They always go, “OMG SOOOOO CUTTTTEEEE >.>”. Even I as an Asian girl can’t get away with that kind of behavior anymore because I’m no longer 12!! That’s not all of it. They try to dance along with the female k-pooop stars. These are young girls doing cute dance moves. Why are they trying to pull this off?

K-pooop is hardly sexual. Sometimes, they bend over and shake their butts suggestively but every time that happens, they cover their face with their hand like they don’t dare to look at a woman’s body and scream like virgins. It’s like you’re back in primary school with the “ewww girls have cooties.”

Yes, I totally get that they are exaggerating for humor but look at how men of other races react to while still being funny

I like masculinity and I’ve mostly dated Asian men in my life and never had I ever thought of Asian men as not masculine because they weren’t. None of them were these whiny little k-poooop bitches. I’ve never witnessed Asian men in such an emasculating light. Now I underhand why /r/aznidentity is always triggered about k-poooop. I’m triggered too!!! I can’t even. I need to go and make sure my couisns aren’t like this.
