overcame my anxiety and went to a straight male barber

i have very long hair and i despise going to salons every time because i kept paying up to 150-200 bucks for a hair cut because it’s too long. Most of the time it didn't even look that good...

I decided to go to a barber shop instead. I was honestly terrified, because only men were there (obviously) and they were staring at me when I entered. They were a bit surprised, but welcoming nonetheless.

I played it cool though and the barber was super nice! I think he was a bit worried I might dislike it, because he kept asking if it's okay. He did an amazing job, and he charged me the usual price, no questions asked (I've heard some barbers charged more for women). I'll definitely come again!

Women who just need to get their long hair trimmed for like an inch, go try yourself, I think most barbershops would be more than happy to do your hair. No more expensive haircuts, hell yeah!

Foid hair stylists are a scam unless you want something fancy. You go girl 👍

Not just using a pair of scissors and a mirror.

so you get a fade or what?

same goes for those idiots who go to chain places like sportscuts or frilly men’s cuts places that give you a beer and charge you $30+ or some shit. you should never pay any more than $20, and that’s including the $2-3 dollar tip. the traditional red and blue barber pole is generally a good sign a place is legit — if you can’t ask for your cut by the guard size, you’re in the wrong place.

for the next level, find a place run by some 40-something immigrant korean ladies and you can literally get a haircut, warm towel, and neck/back massage all for less than $20. after you tell them about grad school, they’ll even lie to you and say your future wife will be lucky to have such a smart husband
