I think it's because it provides a spiritual outlet for women that misogynistic religions don't.
The thing with witchcraft and astrology is that they don't teach that women are evil or sinners. New Age stuffs leans more towards equality between the sexes if not celebration of womanhood and the feminine creative force.
I think a lot of women (myself included) are frustrated by secular religion, why would I go to church if the priest preaching to me thinks I'm lowly sinner just because I bleed once a month. I rather dance naked in the woods and believe in a Great Mother looking over me.
Christianity as a religion has completely erase the female energy (which ancient religions had with godesses) and kept only the myth of a mother who also is a virgin, interestingly. I think intuitively women feel that religions don't respect them, and they look elsewhere. They look for a spirituality that doesn't tell them they are evil for enjoying sex.
I take it as a sign of enlightement and intelligence, personally. The men that want to take it as a sign women are gullible and stupid are rarely geniuses themselves, who cares what someone that can barely tie their shoelaces on their own thinks?
why would I go to church if the priest preaching to me thinks I'm lowly sinner just because I bleed once a month
It's funny because feminism has a lot in common with Christianity. But instead of being born into original sin and needing to seek forgiveness through dedicating your life to Christ, you're born into patriarchal privilege and need to seek forgiveness through dedicating your life to those more oppressed than you.
yeah men think we're stupid and irrational anyway, you can protest all day long and try to prove you are worthy of their attention/praise/back pats but you're still a non-man and hence irrational and dumb and all that.
It is like a KKK member saying: "Why should I not be a member of the KKK? People call me racist anyway!"
Yeah, because you literally are racist. You being member of the KKK is not the reason for your racism, but the results. Just like being into witchcraft did not cause retardery, but you love witchcraft because you are retarded.
When I kiss my son's knee and it feels better, that's magic. When I plant a seed and a beautiful flower grows, that's magic. Science and nature and math are my goddesses.
The funny thing is that even OP, who apparently knows that astrology is bullshit, thinks it is still on the same level as controversial scientists (Jordan Peterson types).
I love Jordan Peterson, btw. He does not even need to say controversial stuff to trigger people. I do not know how he does it, but he is great for drama. Typical example:
Reporter: "Do you think that there are biological differences between men and women?"
Peterson: "I do not just think this, there are biological differences."
Reporter: "Well, this is not a fact, but an opinion. Can you give one example?"
Peterson: "I am a scientist. It is not my opinion, but the results of many many studies. For starters, men on average are taller and stronger than women."
Reporter: "This is kinda rude...."
I love this guy! He told menchildren to stop complaining and just clean their room, and somehow now feminists hate him. It's great.
If men improve themselves, someone may actually expect women to do the same. We need to fight taking responsibility and practicing self control at all costs.
One of my friends is a scientist at a top university. She isn't religious, doesn't "do" astrology, doesn't wear makeup, isn't a frills-and-lace type person.
News flash:
A male nerd from a top university that does not take care of his physical appearance is not taken serious either. In fact, he is the butt of many jokes.
Do these girls not know one single well respected succesful woman in real life? And didn't they observe how she acts?
and I know that men are into all kinds of nonsense that is considered to be credible and not dismissed outright like many female interests are (like certain religions or IQ stuff
I'm sorry, what? IQ is not "nonsense". Just because it might not give you the answers you want doesn't make it nonsense. IQ is a real thing and there is absolutely no two ways about it.
I also personally think such a hard line and discriminatory stance hurts the advancement of feminism. Now you have to be an atheist in order to be a radfem? That's gonna exclude a lot of women.
You might take the time unpack your own personal history and realize that that may color your reactions to spiritual beliefs. We should be welcoming women of various backgrounds to participate in feminism, so long as they truly believe in the concept of female liberation. This is not "Athiests who are Gender Critical" (although if someone wants to start that sub then they're welcome to)
Let's say her personal history was religious people doing terrible things. That makes her dislike religion, but how is she wrong? Do you believe Christianity is something that's true? Did Christ rise from the grave?

“All actual religions were created by men to keep women down”
Three replies down(separate chain)
“I don’t think making this community atheist will help us, there are many religious radfems on here, I’m Christian myself!”
Lol women are so terrified of confrontation.
1 TimGuoRen 2019-10-10
Also how they argue.
"But I like many others am Christian myself, therefore it is wrong to criticize Christianity."
They don't say the other girl is wrong. They say that it hurts their feelings.

Damnit... is it a mix of the feminist word for tranny and the chink word for person?

If you're a feminist and you wonder why women get paid less : read the linked thread.
