When we had our young bloke, the missus took a year off and then returned to work 3 days a week for another year. Then we swapped, she worked full time and I worked 3 days a week for the next couple of years. It was awesome! We were planning on having another. She would have a few months off (no paid maternity leave at her current employer) and I was going to take over as the primary carer, but I started a new job and my current employer won't allow split caring duties. So we are going to stick with one kid and buy a couple of dogs.
They're a fucking architect. Guaranteed they are overpaid and underworked. Australian maternity care laws are ridiculously generous. Freelance from home or some shit if you don't like free vacations you whinging harpy.
