Neil Gaiman weighs in with an utterly clueless hot take:
I think you might have missed the point. Look: If you buy an LP you can play it at 45rpm. It's yours, after all. But if your radio station were to broadcast all music like that to speed up the listening experience, the people who made the music would complain and act.
Complaining about consumers wanting to watch Netflix faster to save time and skip filler, while he himself couldn't be bothered to read the actual article before opening his dumb mouth. Amazing.
Imagine being retarded enough to comment this. He doesn't say anything that goes against the article unless you actually think that watching something on 1.5x speed wouldn't completely fucker the show. You want to save time? Click the red X
There is literally no appreciable difference in the end user experience between streaming a film vs viewing it on disc. Yet Gaiman thinks you should only be allowed to fast forward discs you physically own, while making a bizarre comparison to broadcast radio, as if Netflix is planning to make their accelerated playback mandatory and universal. It's an option, yet he's acting like it's mandatory.
Yes, do tell me more about how I'm the retarded one here 🙄. I couldn't give two fucks how other people consume media in their own homes. Only a narcissistic artiste huffing his own farts would insist otherwise.
A radio station giving the same option would illicit the same response. And btw, I think your rapidly decomposing brain forgot that there is a fucking timeline you can click on to fast forward and rewind as needed.
You seem a little confused. You do understand that I'm talking about Gaiman's comment specifically and exclusively, right? I made no judgement as to whether or not accelerated playback is "good" in general, because I don't care. I'm well aware that the progress bar exists, and I don't care. None of that makes Gaiman's remark any less nonsensical.
I think Neil, being a very old man, was envisioning an actual radio station, which, by its nature, can only provide a single stream of content at a fixed speed.
His presentation of the situation implies that the altered speed is universal and mandatory.
Because then you have to share a discussion space with retards who couldn't even be bothered to pay attention to the whole ass thing or just turn it off if the pacing is so bad they couldn't watch it. See also: "people" who """"read"""" audiobooks

They work hard to put the correct amount of filler content in each movie to maintain their artistic vision.

You seem to be having a tough time keeping up, let me try this again
What he's saying isn't nonsensical, you're just retarded.

Nice try on the bait, but I know it's statistically impossible for two people to stock this many chromosomes

This wouldn't have happened if Comrade Stalin was running things.

We’re sharing this discussion space with you already. Have you seen the movie Pay it Forward?
1 ANewStart1190 2019-11-10
Apparently no one has realized that you can already do this with chrome addons

This made me realize that all art is wasted on me. I need to make sure I’m not unknowingly supporting any artists.
