Enchiladas aren't really something you should order from any mexican place unless that's what they are specifically known for (and pretty much no place is known for their enchiladas). Typical gringo mistake. I have no doubt the mexican food in his town is garbage regardless though.
yeah i used to eat out literally every day the last few years, grew up hating food made by my family and then i figured out its easy af to make your own food that tastes amazing. basically most people's problem is laziness and insisting because your mom taught it to you then you are obligated to make shitty food for the rest of your life
