Morrison is a "Chaos Majic" type. Imagine comic book guy libertarian "magicians", their main methodology is wishing for something, doing "some random shit" to cast the spell, then once you've forgotten the wish but kept "casting" the spell (which can be as simple as a specific masturbation routine, Morrison has actually tried to get his fans to help lend him their power) then the spell will end up working. But you won't know if the spell worked because it only works when you forgot it.
Moore is more a traditional wicca type. Mother nature, potions, shit like that. Imagine a Californian boomer woman who's divorced several rich guys and tried to fill the void with tarot-shit.
Morrison "came out" first but no-one gave a shit until Moore "came out" as a witch or whatever he is so Morrison was butthurt. And Moore is more respected by normies, and Morrison is maybe bigger with the most tragic capeshitters so both of them are jelly of the other. They also used some of their comics to "cast spells" at each other.

Deep heartfelt stories that investigate the fundamental nature of the human condition ain't got shit against a drop dead basic plot that serves as an excuse to use shiny lights and colors to appeal to our primal instincts. You can even see this over the course of the marvel movies. Iron man 1 was actually cool, and offered a relatively grounded movie as far as capeshit goes. Compare this with guardians of the galaxy, which is just a CGI team flexing for 2+ hours.

I've not kept up with MCU past Av1, exc. through some Rlm reviews or whatnot, but those first movies' primary appeal was the stark tone mixing and banter I think - no deep storytelling (which I have to reiterate is something that's gay) but not just sfx either.
Guardians was praised for its wit as well, though I've not seen them yet. Did that aspect fade over the years or something?
Yeah, but there's nothing cool or vizually stunning about Zoolander. Compare with pacific rim, which is capeshit taken to it's logical conclusion. It's got a fucking stupid plot with no deep anything. The whole point is just to have an excuse to watch giant robots punch giant monsters, in a way that makes your inner 12 year old say "awesome!". It doesn't matter if the shots are sharp and colorful. My vision is already sharp and colorful. If the content of the shot is something that I can see by walking around in my day-to-day life, it's not going to inspire awe. Before CGI came around, the best that could be done to invoke that feeling was michael bay style explosions and stunts, or certain subsets of anime. But one is a one-trick pony, and the other is Japanese. CGI lets you take the rule of cool to 11. It lets you get away with a lowest common denominator plots, because who gives a shit about the plot, look at this fucking starship surfing a wave of exploding starships. Infact, you want to use the lcd plot, because it'll appeal to everyone and maximise revenue.
