I think at this point it's genuinely the lolcow farmers keeping him alive, a lot of money comes from them and they take care of the truly abusive psychos.
Mom is still alive, but she's almost 80 now, and she rapidly lost weight over the past few years, which hints at some disease going on. She's frail now.
