I was all about the ironyposting and everything and most of everything I ever said about this subject was a joke, but this is seriously shocking to me. I mean I knew there was instability and depression and being suicidal obviously, but clinical narcissism?
Of the 50% that weren't actual narcissists, 60% of those still had some sort of personality disorder. Less than 20% of all participants had no disorder.
Namely, people who don’t have NPD are more likely to grit their teeth through whatever gender issues they have?
Is this really better?
So a mentally healthy person would just say "Guess I am a man who does not like the taste of beer. Also, I think Lesbians are hot." while narcissistic person would say "Wow, I am so special for not liking beer. Guess I am a woman. And I also like lesbians. So suck this girl dick, lesbo!"
There might be something to this, from the trannies I have met. I can't tell if it's sufficient for NPD, but there is definitely something off with them. They seem to be living a stereotype of women. A lot of them are very exaggerated. Some women shit on men, but when trannies do it, it seems really overt and some kind of signaling to distance themselves from men and appear more feminine. It was really obnoxious during the interactions I have had. Many of their other behaviors seem very compensatory, too. It's garish, overdone and like a caricature of a woman. Personally, I can't stand it. Regular feminists are bad enough, but if you catch a tranny feminist, their misandry is off the charts often times. It has always seemed fake and disingenuous to me, kind of like the joke about gay Republicans that were extra homophobic to not be called out or out of being in denial.
Iran has been mostly accepting of trannies for days. The only confounding variable is how many of these people are gay and not trans though I will admit.
you were making up weird non logical excuses as to why almost 60% of them would be narcissists and then you posted an eye roll emoji because it's from iran, you are definitely personally triggered by the study.
It's true that I would take it with a grain of salt, considering the source. But it seems that things in the west are getting worse for neutrality of academia, too. There was a study about rapid onset gender dysphoria that was pretty much decimated in the media and by angry trannies. They celebrated a big victory after it was announced that the study had been updated, but the main points of the study had actually not changed. It was just that they could claim a metaphorical scalp, saying that they had "debunked" the study, just so they can use that whenever anyone brings it up.
Littman, Lisa. "Rapid-onset gender dysphoria in adolescents and young adults: A study of parental reports." PloS one 13, no. 8 (2018): e0202330.
Me posting a single study on transgenders, and using Iran's extensive history of transgender medical treatment and research to refute the idea that this should automatically be discredited in it's entirety just because Iran = picking sides, ok. Sounds like someone has an estrogen flavored chip on their shoulder.
No, it means you will need more than this study. If you read my other comments, it's not like I am completely closed to the idea that there are many NPD individuals like that.
Does narcissism influence people to more likely identify as trans or does being trans somehow make you more likely to be narcissistic? It would be interesting if the rate of narcissism among transpeople differed between the West and that one asian country that is famous for ladyboys but I can't remember the name of rn

Reddit is absolutely not the place to ask this but wouldn’t this study be confounded by the personality disorder itself?
Namely, people who don’t have NPD are more likely to grit their teeth through whatever gender issues they have?
1 Miro_Semberac 2020-01-15
I don't know that that is the case or why that would be the case either
1 Chapose 2020-01-15
Does that matter though? As far as I understand it was about people who explictly identify as trans and about to get SRS.
I guess the 50 not narcisstic percent are the ones that are not active on reddit, twitter and whatever anyway.
1 MySQ_uirre_L 2020-01-15
that’s the whole point.
You’re going to find a whole lot more body dysmorphia on bodybuilding.com than at say, your local gym.

Wrong, they were still trans.
1 aoijvzoqfonso 2020-01-15
Yes, it would matter but similar issues arise due to the small sample size you have to begin with.

how is this a surprise to you, they literally draw more attention to themselves than any other group.
1 Miro_Semberac 2020-01-15
that's not really the same thing as being a clinical narcissist
1 yeetsaucepeteross 2020-01-15
its a symptom imo

no, they started with the trannies after the theocracy

It sounds like you are misunderstanding the purpose. A neuter is an improvement over a gay.

cutting of your dick, taking estrogen, and wearing womens clothes is totally fine, but kissing a dude crosses the line I guess

I semi-unironically agree with this

1 aoijvzoqfonso 2020-01-15
Okay, but still: what are you going to do when the western studies seem to all refute the findings?
You seem to just be picking sides then, unless you can point to the flaws in other studies.

Really, I think we can combine "mental illness" and "transgenderism" into a single diagnosis called Borderline Female Personality Disorder
