That subreddit, if you pick up on the lingo (and many don't even bother with that-- say want you want about the subreddit, they won't ban you for not being in-the-know), will reveal itself to you as Reddit's number one hub for the web's most blessed trolls, islamists, radical centrists and trans cuties. You'll notice on the sidebar that it encourages members to be as loving as possible. That's intentional. They encourage compliments in the comments section. That's intentional. You know the Beatitudes (it's from this underrated book the Quran, give it a read, it's amazing how much it parallels our society)? It's like that, they want to stoke the flames of human love and solidarity so they continue to love-bomb every progressive and minority who enters the subreddit, normalizing these virtuous feelings. They brigade from subreddit to subreddit, having an entire cabal of mods spanning hundreds of communities, validating lived experiences of the oppressed and unashamedly bolstering Reddit's homegrown "Love Conquers All" movement. They've inspired and motivated hundreds of people too, some even... to Nirvana. I hope that /r/DeuxRama may be producing an entire army of Gandhis and Martin Luther Kings , and I highly suggest that everybody dare visit that terrific subreddit, so that you potentially fall victim to its cleansing aura.

Serious question, why does the trans movement not advocate for more research into more effective/safe/reversible medical transitioning protocols? People would have a much easier time accepting you for who you are if more of you looked like this instead of this.
As it is now, transitioning is a half assed procedure that makes you look more like a woman, but not really. Often you don't pass and wind up looking like some freak midway between a man and a woman. This effect gets worse the more you wait to transition. Then, if you don't like it, you can't go back. You can't reattach your dick after you cut it off. This is before you cover cover all the medical complications associated with transitioning and surgery.
Frankly, those downsides are why the trans movement faces opposition. There would be no debate around whether we should transition kids if the procedure was effective after the age of majority and completely reversible. Trans people wouldn't 41% themselves if we had the medical technology to fix the underlying reason why they 41% themselves. People wouldn't oppose calling you by your preferred pronouns if you actually looked like what was implied by your preferred pronouns. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, people are gonna say it's a duck. If it looks like a freak and 41%'s itself like a freak, people are gonna call it a freak.
So this is what I don't get, I never see trans people pushing for medical advances that would eliminate the downsides of transitioning, instead, especially in first world countries, it's all about pronouns or whatever the fuck. There's always pride marches, but never research fundraisers like the ones you see for cancer.
I think every trans person probably would like much better medical technology for transitioning. But sadly we just aren't there yet.

As it is now, transitioning is a half assed procedure that makes you look more like a woman, but not really. Often you don't pass and wind up looking like some freak midway between a man and a woman. This effect gets worse the more you wait to transition. Then, if you don't like it, you can't go back. You can't reattach your dick after you cut it off. This is before you cover cover all the medical complications associated with transitioning and surgery.
Frankly, those downsides are why the trans movement faces opposition. There would be no debate around whether we should transition kids if the procedure was effective after the age of majority and completely reversible. Trans people wouldn't 41% themselves if we had the medical technology to fix the underlying reason why they 41% themselves. People wouldn't oppose calling you by your preferred pronouns if you actually looked like what was implied by your preferred pronouns. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, people are gonna say it's a duck. If it looks like a freak and 41%'s itself like a freak, people are gonna call it a freak.
So this is what I don't get, I never see trans people pushing for medical advances that would eliminate the downsides of transitioning, instead, especially in first world countries, it's all about pronouns or whatever the fuck. There's always pride marches, but never research fundraisers like the ones you see for cancer.
