I actually feel sorry for the kids who have to experience their first pandemic during an election year. It's giving them an even more biased take on this sort of thing than usual. Granted, there are things Trump should have done differently, sure, but we're not all going to die because of it.
I recently joined r/Coronavirus thinking for some reason it would be a place for more sensible discussion. Boy was I wrong. It's somehow even worse. Apparently, China and Italy are the only countries who know how to handle coronavirus, and every other country is going to turn into sneezing zombies any minute now. I'm tempted to introduce them to the adorable Dr Mike, just to see if some of them would at least chill. I mean, how could you not become chill looking at that adorable face? Plus, he's mad in that video and he's so cute when he's mad!
It's a global epidemic. While a shit ton of people will catch it, it's probably not going to be that bad. Even if 4% die, the world isn't going to run out of people.
Especially since Italy literally sucks at handling the virus if we go by the number of deaths and the mortality rate. Like wow bravo lazy ass italians now have to go to work even less and more people die there than in China but at least streets are empty. Incredible handling! The more drastic your measures are to compensate for your incompetence the better as long as streets=empty.
Crashing is good. Idiots sell investments when they are low and smart people buy when it's low. Dips in the market are God's way of transferring economic power from the dumb to the smart.
Ahahahahahaahaha why are bears always like this. Take your lucky win and move on. It's "always either about to crash" i swear guys or "this is just the beginning THIS time the market will really not recover". Sucks to always lose money just to be a contrarian emo "i told u so" once in decade and feel like you're seeing something others don't
I'm short retard, but to say that we aren't even close to the bottom is stupid. And perma bears still think this is the collapse of 10 years of blabla printing blabla artificial stimulation when it's simply the virus wrecking the markets. Again, even in a bear market bears turned out wrong. That's why your comment was irrelevant, it's just muh total crash doomsday scenario.

Yeah I don’t keep up with gas prices but filled up today and it was fucking 1.95.
I was like shit, haven’t seen that in a while

Price of gas craters during every recession. But the stress is really not worth it.
1 pm_me_sphynxes 2020-03-11
Gas prices soared during the last recession and didn't come back down for years.
1 kermit_was_wrong 2020-03-11
No, they plummeted during the Great Recession too. Low economic activity means low demand for energy.
1 HodorTheDoorHolder_ 2020-03-11
Wrong again. Gas was almost $5 a gallon in 2010 in California. Was almost $4 in N Carolina the year prior.

China is handling it right now, but sucked at the beginning. While a pandemic could be imminent, it could have been avoided. No need to worry now.
1 demotecontrol 2020-03-11
You don’t know what a pandemic is, do you?

No one said the world has to run out of people in order to be a pandemic....
1 SlowFatHusky 2020-03-11
Nope. I am saying that it's pointless to worry now since the initial spread wasn't prevented.
