I tried to educate far-right, incels, and alt-right people on the fallacies of their beliefs but they didn't listen
I was good at Facts and Logic.
I didn't "care" about karma until my 4th cakeday.
When my favorite subreddits opened up applications for moderators that allowed the most passionate and intelligent of the users to maintain discourse I applied immediately.
I was good at commenting and banning
I did a 40+ comment chain against a literal bigot.
I moderate 13 subs.
I do not get paid.
I am a redditor. I have always been a redditor. Redditors can be interested in any topic, have any interest, defy any stereotype; as long as they remain civil and don't promote hate. I'm so grateful to my admins for never permabanning me when I was edgy and stupid and terrible and instead encouraging me to pursue being just a better human being.
If I was a n00b today, no doubt I would have thought I was an alt-right scumbag. It would have been a damn shame.
I don't want any edgy kid who is strong and opinionated and full of life and vitality be banned because what they think isn't correct. We need to stand up and present the idea that these people are misled and need to have their old way of thinking stripped away and instead educated on the right things that way they can be redditors and be proud of it.
