Man was ahead of his time, especially when it came to his production. It's freaky like those Memphis tapes where the production sounds like it was made in 2020 using samples from the latest Pokemon game.
And trynna keep all of this dough from going to my head
That's a triple rhyme, did you hear what I said?
You gotta test to work to sell the best second rule of street cred
Casually promoting and glamorizing smoking crack cocaine, for the specific purpose of manufacturing and distributing which he is also promoting and glamorizing. This is Lil B before Lil B and with none of the positivity, I love it.
More just like a weird talented dude, possibly somewhat mentally ill. Went through a period where he was posting on twitter about putting on corsets to crush his organs and kill himself and how he would die soon unless he was being an edgelord. He grew up playing piano since age 6 and was only jumped into a gang while attending college so he likely didn't grow up poor or in an excessively bad neighborhood and likely had all the newest video games while he was playing piano as a child, so that's probably why a lot of his songs sound like 80's and 90's Sega and Nintendo game systems. Probably only a casual crack user at that.
He's never mentioned it, but a lot of his songs just happen to pretty much represent dissociative drugs extremely well, I can't explain it unless you've been heavy into DXM, Ketamine, MXE, and so on and then you'd know what I mean. So he might have been into PCP as well but that's just my unfounded theory.
