You are right that we don't know everything about his personal life, but again, we should not be deliberately ignorant of the situation by taking things in a vacuum. We live in a society and culture where open relationships are very rare (especially among public figures in religious states), so it is highly unlikely that Andrew Gillum was in an open relationship. Given the circumstances in which he was found (in a hotel room, with a suspected escort on an overdose), it is far more likely that he was doing drugs and cheating, and so the onus is on Andrew Gillum to explain his behavior and defend himself from those accusations, not on us to turn a blind eye to it.
