As someone who works in a hospital I can say I unironically can't stand most nurses, especially the ones I work with in the emergency department. They have less compassion than the lizards living under my porch.

A nurse asked a billing specialist if codeine was narcotic. Billing specialist says Idk. I tell her that codeine metabolizes into morphine in the liver and that it's an opiate. Her reply? "Oh, codeine isn't morphine!" In a really patronizing tone. I just walked off.

I got deathy sick and was in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities/LTACs for about 9 months. The worst nurses were the wound care nurses in the LTACs/SNFs and the nurses in the ICU.

It's like the worse off the patients the more horrible the nurses are

I tell you one thing I feel so sorry for any person who is lucid who has to stay in a skilled nursing facility/nursing home. The combination of almost dying a few times and the abuse I got from the nurses gave me diagnosed PTSD.
