THEY FUCKING INVENTED THE MEANING OF THE WORD "GENDER". While sex describes, well, your sex (male or female), gender describes the social roles of the sexes. This is not even too dumb, because being a stay at home parent is not the same thing as being a woman, but mostly it is the women who are stay at home parents. So you can actually invent a new definition for gender. (Before this, sex and gender were just synonyms.) However, now the social scientists are confused by their own definition and compared with the total denial that they are not a hard science, they realize that their own new definition of gender does not always work. Because what if a woman likes football? Now they could say "Well, we are not an exact science. But obviously we all agree that liking sports is rather masculine than feminine, even if some women like sports.". But instead they go full autistic "Hey! Seems like all you guys are wrong! Gender does not even exist! But if it exists, it is not at all related to sex!". Like nobody except themselves even used the concept of gender. And now they themselves realize it is a flawed concept, and now act like they are the geniuses here.

They are still way right of the west coast society around them. They just don't talk about it anymore, for fear of getting the Brandon Eich treatment. They're basically in the closet. People will spend a lot of time sussing out how you react to the truth before opening up.

I'm not a rightoid myself, but I'm not a cancel culture person. When I worked as an analyst for a tech co, the rightoids would eventually confess their gun-owning and left-suspecting ways. Even gay dudes would confess things like that. The impression I got was that of a voluntarily totalitarian society, where a tiny minority of people exert total control over what can or cannot be said.

I do my best to avoid saying anything political at all, but I frequently out myself by reminding the team that we have goals to meet.
