Oh it's not just young men. I recently posted a piece of writing in FetLife explaining how fragile reactionary men are making it difficult for society to take issues that do hurt men seriously. Male rape victims, male DV victims, the few times there a rape accusation actually is fake- society either does not take these seriously or is more apt to side with women because of culturally pervasive ideas about emn that are perpetuated, excused, and even defended by other men.

Every single time you see one of these guys tell a woman "oh it's JUST a dick pic" or "oh it's JUST words on a screen" whenever she speaks up about the disgusting shit they receive from men in their inbox, "oh it's JUST a compliment" whenever women speak up about catcalling all just reinforces the cultural perception that males are constantly horny bastards that do not respect women's boundaries. Then these guys shout about how "society always sides with the woman because they think all men only want sex and assume we don't care about women's boundaries!" Meanwhile, the minds of everybody who sees this glaring contradiction are slowly sliding another bullet into the chamber and contemplating entering into that final goodnight to spare itself having to process how fucking stupid these people's "logic" is.

So this writing I posted got a lot of detractors and, wouldn't ya know it, the overwhelming majority of them were straight, cis, white, middle aged, male, """Dom's""". One of them, 46 fucking years old, even proudly proclaims to "Have taken the Honk Pill" and he is not joking.

We can't discount how way tooany of these reactionaries are, in the loosest possible sense, fully-grown adults.

We could debate the utility of critical theory fields all day but I think the best part is that they chose such an academic field of study and failed at getting into academia lmao.

I'm in Comp Eng, I know I'm not cut out to be a prof or researcher, I knew this before I even entered academia. I will never be the top 1% creme theorist/practitioner that uses their degree for what it is intended and generates progress points for robo tendies.
