Am I so out of touch that I forgot how to cook properly? No, it's the universe that is wrong.

My first experience with the Mandela Effect came about a few years ago, when I suddenly realized my that penis is now only 4.5", instead of the full 8" I've always known it to be. I asked my wife if she had noticed the change too, and she just stared at me like I was fucking retarded. She told me that I've always been small! Can you believe that? Fucking wild. The Mandela Effect is very real.

4.5 isn't small

It is for grown men

Sorry I’m used to younger.

Who the fuck times water boiling? Just watch it.

Why doesn't OP just google "atmospheric pressure" and figure out that it hasn't changed at all... oh wait, he thinks the "timeline" changed.

While Mandela Effect is difficult for skeptics to believe, there is plenty of evidence of its existence.

The fact many are stating the same change in cooking time has taken place for them, is something to have a closer look at in this shifting reality.

That's not evidence, it's anecdotes. I've been cooking rice since I was 12 years old, that's 18 years of rice cooking experience. Nothing has changed for me at all.

It doesn't change for everyone.

Right. It only changes for people who suffer from schizoid delusions.

They're not schizos they're just retarded. Who would have thought some 80iq moron who smokes an ounce of weed a day has the memory capacity of a goldfish?

Some people might wonder how they convinced themselves they had titanium memory banks in the first place.

While not every “change” can be attributed to ME. There are undeniable changes happening to reality.

These are not “delusions.”

In this case, it could very well be nothing, but putting it out there to get a gauge of how many others may be experiencing this extension in cooking time.

You seem to have a very different definition of "undeniable" from the rest of the world.

The only deniable thing is whether certain accounts are valid.

The phenomena itself is undeniable.

Instead of nonsensical brute skepticism, try to read into quantum mechanics. And I mean really READ INTO it.

If it clicks as to what exactly the implications of those universal principles lead to, the Mandela Effect becomes ordinary.

Ah yes, quantum mechanics. Maybe you should try understanding it instead of just reading it.

Some things are and some things are not.

I understand quite well.

ANYONE who to this day refutes Mandela Effect as outright mental machinations of crazy or “dumb” people that claims to have read about the quantum world, needs to go back and re-read it until they finally see the light... in particle form.

😏

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Look buddy. I've seen all four seasons of Quantum Leap. I think I know what I'm talking about.

Oh no, it's retarded.

I do believe that reality is determined via consensus, so I cede that point.

Consensus actually threatens my reality.

So only the retarded then?

I challenge you to a cook-off to see who finishes rice first.

If you would look at the link, you would see it’s quite a few people who suddenly forgot how to cook “properly.”

A bunch of people who probably have never cooked before. So the truth is their parents (who likely cook for them) are getting older and aren't getting their tendies ready as quick.

I assume you met all of them and aren’t just jumping to assumptions on that.

I would never step in a room with r*dditors

pasta used to take 7 minutes now it takes 10

Different types of pasta take different times to cook. Only thin angel hair pasta takes 7 minutes. Most stuff takes 10. Same thing with different types of rice. The dummy who was grilling his chicken for 45 minutes was burning the shit out of his chicken. Good god you people are retarded.

Taking it out of context.

It wasn’t referring to ALL pasta. Obviously angel hair cooks MUCH faster than the likes of a fettuccini.

It was referring to that instance of someone cooking the same type of pasta.

Was it though? From what I can tell none of you people know how to cook anything.

Go take a walk in the park or something. My lord you people are wound up.

It's disheartening to know that people as stupid as MEs are just walking around out there unsupervised. I've looked into ME a lot and you guys have got to be some of the dumbest people on the planet. It's scary.

unless you’re either 10 years old or have no sense of memory, one could not go through the list of MEs and deny each and every one of them.

It’s usually the angry, bitter, obtuse people that flatly deny it’s a real phenomena. Simply because it’s not located in a text book somewhere, then it can’t be real and anyone making claims other wise is “dumb.”

It’s remarkable every single generation of humans has an innumerable amount of thick headed people such as yourself that need to shout down every postulation that hasn’t been accepted for at least hundreds of years prior.

stop oppressing the mentally challenged!

Give me a break. You just don't remember things correctly. It happens to everyone. Most normal people just shrug and say "I guess I was wrong and didn't remember correctly. It was a long time ago and I wasn't really paying that close attention". How narcissistic do you have to be to think "my memory is 100% perfect, the whole universe is wrong." You guys aren't even crazy, you're just dumb as hell.

No one can make a blind man see except Jesus.

Good luck with your anger and closed mindedness.

Look. Here's one that I remember incorrectly.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/larissafaw/2012/11/21/the-curious-case-of-ed-mcmahon-and-the-publishers-clearing-house

Like everyone else I thought Ed McMahon was part of Publishers Clearing House. I remember all those TV and radio ads from when I was a little kid. When I learned about this I said, "Really? Oh shit that's weird." Then I thought back about the commercials and I do remember the name American Family Publishing. What happened was, they were similar companies with similar names doing similar advertising campaigns and I was little and not really paying attention and I had no idea that they were even separate companies at the time.

So, like a normal person who is not retarded, I shrugged my shoulders and said, "Huh, learn something new everyday I guess." At no point did I think "I must be an interdimensional time wizard! I have ascended!"

You do yourself no favors using personal anecdotal evidence to dismiss an entire phenomena that’s been proven to be true.

What you just did is the equivalent of taking what some people said, you agreed with them, and then found other evidence that could dismiss that SPECIFIC case.

Now try adjusting that to the now countless catalogued cases of ME.

been proven to be true

Yeah it's been proven that people occasionally don't remember things correctly.

Now try adjusting that to the now countless catalogued cases of ME

Easy. Sometimes people don't remember things correctly.

You find one person from South Africa over 40 who isn't a verifiable lunatic or a troll that actually thinks Nelson Mandela died in prison and didn't become president. Just one. The only people who ever thought that are idiots a half a world away who were too stoned to pay attention in history class.

Look up the list of Mandela Effects.

Again, if anyone here is over ten years old and has functioning memory, a fully functional cerebral cortex, will find several if not many be clear instances of revisions to reality as we lived it.

Simply impossible.

You are either lying to yourself are ignoring the ones that truly are unexplainable.

None of them are unexplainable dude. They're not "The Mandela Effect" they're "Common Misconceptions".

One day, you’re going to be stumped. It’s going to hit you. And as the saying goes, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

Do you have trouble reading maps?

Yeah if someday a cinder block falls on my head I'll probably end up believing in it

SNAPPY

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Or you could do the proper research and keep an open mind, meaning being an open vessel rather than blindly believing in a set of beliefs. No cinder block required to see the truth.

Lol. You're hilarious. Hand me any one of the ME and I can come up with a dozen explanations on why someone might remember it incorrectly that are way more plausible than "the fabric of space and time is shifting". You haven't even tried, you just jumped right into "I'm a magical guru!" as evidenced by your fart-sniffing mysticism. Lay off hitting your dab rig so hard dude.

The Thinker by Rodin.

Easy. It's a very famous statue and it has been depicted countless times in all kinds of media. Like most people you've probably seen an artistic representation of "The Thinker" more times than you've ever seen the actual stature. You've seen it in a Simpsons episode, you've seen it in a comic book, you've seen an illustration of it on a greeting card, you've seen satirical takes and parodies of it. But how many times have you really studied the actual statue. Artists have drawn it in slightly different poses because they are taking an artistic license or they just don't remember themselves because they've never bothered to study the actual statue either. So you've probably seen versions of it with his fist on his forehead and you conflate it with the pose of the actual statue which has always had his chin on his hand.

Or you have seen other similar statues that have a hand to their forehead and are conflating that. There are a million knockoffs of that statue. They are things that you buy for your dad's desk or your mom's garden. And I'm sure plenty of them are not true to the original.

Or a combination of both.

That’s one side of it. The side skeptics always take, confabulation.

But the current version I have had no memory of until I saw it again months ago.

The limp back of hand “thinker” has no place in my memory growing up. It was always closed fist to chin. That was the statue. Both in its original form and in imitations.

Unless Rodin had a sick sense of humor and titled his most famous piece the Thinker while having the actual statue doing nothing of the sort; I don’t have any reason to believe it didn’t “change” to its current, paradoxical form in which the figure now has a “cap” sticking off his head and his arm rests on the opposite thigh (try doing any thinking in that pose).

The piece is now preposterous.

Btw Rodin never named it The Thinker. It was named The Poet and was commissioned as part of a series based on Dante's Inferno. I've actually studied art and have been to see it in person in philly. Like everything else surrounding it, people have projected a bunch of presumptuous nonsense onto it that was never really there. Learn this shit.

Well isn’t that convenient.

The pose is no longer one trained in thought, featuring a weird cap / protrusion on the head. Suddenly the original title wasn’t even the Thinker.

There is zero reason for imitating a famous statue in a completely different pose than what it is.

Why there remains fist to chin and fist to forehead poses (THINKING) is beyond explanation.

Beyond explanation? Really? Well which do you believe is more likely? The statue has magically changed and everything else stayed the same, or people have thought about the Thinker having his hand on his forehead and that has entered popular culture? This idea of residues and stuff that's somehow staying the same while things have changed has absolutely no evidence for it. Whereas the fallible nature of human memory is well documented and easy enough to manipulate. I bet if I told you that the Eiffel Tower always had a flag on top of it, you'd be able to picture it clear as day. Jesus.

This isn’t Occam’s razor here where the memory of man is more likely to be wrong than the past staying the same.

We don’t know what makes our 3D existence. We don’t know what lies beyond that which influences our world. Physics allows for time to move backward as easily as it does forward, there is no restriction in the formulation of time.

There is no rational reason why there exist countless instances of imitations of a world famous statue being not just depicted “wrong,” but wrong in the same exact way. As if a large swath of people just decided to believe a statue made of rock really should be depicted in a different pose.

Couple that with one’s own personal memory of the statue itself, seen multiple times through many years, to suddenly be different than those MULTIPLE memories leaves one with only one choice.

If this was the only example, sure, confabulation. Bad memory. Etc.

But it’s not. There are more and more changes being discovered. Many have logical residue. Residue that shouldn’t be there unless there was in fact a change to the present reality.

I'm no longer going to read your replies. However, I can't help but be saddened by talking with someone who in one breath berates people for being closed minded and in the next, refuses to acknowledge the fact that human memory is demonstrably so poor it is regularly thrown out in court and that the simpler explanation is that the universe itself is changing (and only a small band of intrepid detectives are lucid enough to bear its witness). Your case is so poor, your only viable answer is "I don't know, but I want it to be extraordinary." This whole Mandela Effect culture just sounds like a little kid who got caught with cookie dough on his lips, but denies it up and down to the point that someone must have broken in, rubbed the dough on his face, and left through the window. It's retarded. Absolutely retarded and I love you for being you.

Stay away from children.

Again. You WILL have your moment.

Maybe you’ll keep blaming your bad memory. Or that everyone is just wrong and falsely equating the present with a false memory.

But Mandela Effect is real. Reality is constantly changing. The past is not set in stone.

Again, not reading this.

Try to remember (lol I know) that there is more reality than there is you. Do you want to go against the universe or do you want to cope with being wrong for 5 seconds and take your medication?

How am I going against the universe if countless others remember the EXACT SAME POSE.

This isn’t just me against the world situation.

This isn’t just me making a claim and expecting everyone else to see it from my perspective.

Even if it was, I would refuse to acquiesce to any other fact than that statues pose has changed. And likely multiple times.

The funny part is your whole argument crumbles if I ask for proof, because everything you can show me only bolsters my case. All you are left with is the narcissistic opinion that you are right and it's the world that's wrong, because you aren't smart and you aren't special.

Also, this conversation has been sent to the CIA.

Again.

It’s not just me. You’re missing the entire argument here and resorting to dismissing the evidence.

As if the only way to prove it changed would be to show you in real time how the pose went from one yesterday to another today.

If it didn’t change, there would not be the same misinterpretation by countless people. Why not put thumb to chin? Or index finger to temple?

No, one after the next, chin to fist. All just coincidence. Just independent mass group wrong think year after year.

How many different times has the universe decided to shift this statue such that several different people have decided to imitate it wrongly? 2? 3 times? I've seen this pose done in every conceivable variation, even with the real thing right fucking in frontnof them. People just like doing it. Are each of them from a different universe?

I'm giving you too much credit just by interacting with you.

You never studied the actual piece until you got into ME. You were just wrong all along because of the reasons above and you didn't even know it.

Yeah I wasn’t an art major. I didn’t study the history behind the statue or read a biography on Rodin.

But I did attend school. I did take art classes. And I did see this statue multiple times during my life.

It’s ingrained in my memory, fist to chin and deep in thought.

Why is that same exact pose being made by others if that wasn’t the statue? We all independently missed the fact that it’s really a limp hand in the mouth?

Because they're all the same as you. They never actually saw the real statue. They just have an erroneous preconceived notion of what it looks like imparted on them by pop culture. Also. Guess what, a statue is 3D. It can look a little different depending on what angle you are viewing it from. Preposterous indeed.

You’re making excuses based on YOUR interpretation.

There is no reason for this many examples of a different pose that supposedly never existed. Everyone sees Rodin’s statue if they attended a decent school. Anyone who takes an interest in art will see the statue at some point.

A fist to chin and a open hand in mouth will look quite different from the side. Which is how it is usually pictured to capture the pose more fully.

There’s no confusion here. The pose changed.

LMAO that really is the answer isn't it. You saw a picture of it from the right and now when you see a picture from the left it is blowing your mind. Go find me one person with an art history degree who thinks the pose has changed. Lol you're not magic bro, you're just dumb.

You think someone with an art history degree is going to just risk their career by stating it changed and not offer any evidence of the statue actually changing?

Even if they knew, they would never publicly admit it.

LMAO now it's a big conspiracy is it? We've just given you plenty of reasons why people just don't remember it correctly that are a million times more plausible than the Mandela Effect and you are still blathering on like it's a real thing, digging yourself deeper and deeper. This is so rich. The dumbest people have the hardest time admitting when they are wrong. Your faux intellectualism about it just makes it that much better. Congratulations, you are one of the best lolcows we have had in here in a while.

The only conspiracy here is how hard you attempt to dismiss the existence of Mandela Effect.

As if modern physics does not leave the door wide open for timeline shifts as more and more research shows non locality is a core feature of our world. Meaning multiple realities. Meaning it’s not out of reason to believe parts of spacetime overlap with others.

You happen to be arguing with someone with a physics degree bud. While I can entertain plenty of heady concepts from theoretical physics what I can't entertain is the idea that it's only happening to you and your cronies and somehow only manifesting itself in obscure pop-culture references from your childhoods that you only vaguely remember in the first place. Memory is flawed. And yours is flawed more than most it seems.

Again, assumptions.

It’s not “happening” to me and some cronies. It’s simply happening.

Just as someone can be aware or not aware of an event, the event is occurring as long as there is an observer.

For someone with a physics degree, you certainly have a lot of false confidence in something that is very theoretically possible and instead choose to refute any and all evidence that points to a common denominator that many people without any bias towards Mandela Effect have demonstrated the EXACT SAME replication of something that doesn’t exist.

You have tunnel vision. Very unscientific.

Your definition of "evidence" is just as flawed as your definition of "undeniable" and your definition of "assumptions" and your definition of "observation" and your definition of "happening" and your definition of "replication". You're going to need to read a dictionary before you read a book on quantum mechanics.

you’re ONLY explanation is that everyone has the same exact bad memory. Have you thought about why that would be or better yet, what the odds of that would be?

This is one of the most well known works of art and a rather large portion of people have portrayed it wrong for YEARS? In the EXACT same way?

There’s quite a few ways one could be thinking while sitting.

Look at the current version. Does it even look rational to you? The position of the hand? The positioning on the elbow? It’s completely unnatural and evokes confusion as to why anyone would place their head on the back of their hand as it remains open palm towards the throat.

OR, it could be a fist to chin.

you’re ONLY explanation is that everyone has the same exact bad memory. Have you thought about why that would be or better yet, what the odds of that would be?

Not "same exact", similar. They all remember it incorrectly in similar ways because of similar misconceptions that were caused by similar reasons.

The statue is the same as its always been because you never really studied the actual statue. You and many others just had a preconception of the statue that was wrong and when you saw the real thing it didn't match your preconception. Instead of just admitting that you had an erroneous preconception you are making up complete nonsense to protect your fragile ego. It's perfectly ok to be wrong. You don't look foolish until you are completely obstinate in the face of overwhelming evidence. You simultaneously decry my anecdotal evidence while offering nothing but anecdotal evidence of your own. Neither of those are true evidence. The true evidence is the statue. If you have absolutely nothing to prove that it changed except for your fuzzy memory then you don't have anything. I can totally picture all three positions in my mind, fist on forehead, fist under chin, and the way it actually is. I can go look at the statue and see the way it actually is. Just because I can picture the other two positions in my imagination doesn't make it real.

Seriously though, you guys always dismiss the most obvious and rational answers, but you never give a good reason why. You just say "no, that's not it." And move on like you're an authority on anything.

Sure, it's theoretically possible that reality is shifting in inane waves and leaving clues behind and all that. It's equally plausible that I am actually made out of ice cream right this moment. A lot of things are possible. How can you even live under such a back assward assumption? Your hierarchy of meaning must be so fucking crossed up as to be useless. I would pity you but you're below flat-earthers and those people who drink colloidal silver on the pecking order of retards.

Yet you somehow convinced yourself that an occurrence that is so unlikely as to not even be humored by even the wackiest of scientists is more likely than things that are actually observable and well-documented.

It's amazing. You really, really believe this shit.

But broooooooo. What if truly believing in it is the only way it works? 🤯🤯🤯 I mean, just ask Tinkerbell.

I need to take a step back and remember to just dunk on retards and move on.

It's fun to argue with them sometimes. Especially when they keep coming back for more. I haven't talked with these guys in years but when I first got on reddit I got banned from both the subs pretty quickly after discovering them. I actually got banned from retconned first because I was there when they first made it because ME wasn't enough of an echo chamber for their tastes. Honestly it would be funny if it didn't make me realize that these people are just out there voting and driving and shit.

I think this dude posts on wallstreetbets so at least you know he's lighting his money on fire.

You can keep coming up with roundabout “reasoning” as to why it MAY be something other than timeline shifts. But the basis for your argument is no different than denying black holes exist UNTIL a picture of a black hole was taken.

If one were to be logical and assess ALL the points of contention, there is reason to be a skeptic of the phenomena to the point of denying its plausibility and in this case, likelihood.

Again, the Thinker is but ONE example. Sample sizes matter. And in regards to ME, it keeps growing.

There is no reason for people to keep coming to the same exact “wrong” memories. That implies they had to be referencing a different original from any current version of that thing/place/event/etc.

If you actually took a look into cases with significant residue such as the Thinker, and actually had an open mind to the plausibility, you could not deny it’s existence with any level of confidence. It’s illogical. The EVIDENCE points to a malleable ever changing reality, in all temporal forms.

You absolute buffoon. You don't understand a thing and it's so cute.

Again. Not addressing the odds of why so many people have the same exact “wrong” memory.

It’s not two or three people. It’s thousands (that we know of).

There are examples where people quote the same “old” version of something before there was even a Mandela Effect community. Completely unrelated and independent occurrences.

Denying something just because you don’t believe in it is just as bad as believing in something without any basis for that belief.

You have to understand. What you are talking about is so unlikely that nobody takes it seriously. You only think it's plausible because you like the idea. Your pattern recognition is all fucked up and you don't want to admit it.

There is no way to observe this phenomenon. There is no way to test it. Any scientific model you could produce would put the odds lower than the odds of us running out of new music to write or 1000 flipped coins landing on their sides simultaneously. This isn't something you can base a viable, effective theory around with any solid basis.

I would be so amazingly supportive of this theory if there was any fucking evidence that 101000 odds are more likely to occur than shit you see every day.

Good lord, you fucking narcissistic punk.

But it’s only “unlikely” because of what your bias is telling you.

Multiverse theory clearly states that branes touching each other could create areas of distortion in spacetime.

Quantum mechanics clearly states that consciousness affects outcomes and locality of a particle.

You don’t just state that Mandela Effect is unlikely, you outright refute it as if it is an impossibility, with all this mounting evidence that our reality is not solid, especially when it comes to time, is quite frankly, ignorant.

You are no different than the “skeptics” that criticized Copernicus and his EVIDENCE of the Earth orbiting the Sun. He couldn’t actually take people out into outer space and show them, but he could leave a trail of evidence.

Mandela Effect is no different.

The evidence is there. It’s irrefutable.

The only question is whether a claimed case is in fact retrocausality shifts or a false memory.

It's not my fucking bias, you retard. You don't understand this shit. You would be smarter than every other physicist in the world if you understood quantum mechanics on the level you claim.

You aren't.

You are deluded.

If you had any evidence, maybe a mathematical model to explain your theory, that'd be one thing. It would be accepted with open arms by the scientific community. They would be all over this shit. I'm not denying a verifiable idea just because it doesn't make me comfortable. Your claim is literally "I can't accept the more likely explanation for this phenomenon, so I will assume it's the most fantastical, unlikely reason."

You aren't a persecuted genius. You are the retards who kept believing the earth was a disc when reality proved otherwise. You fucking dolt.

The evidence is there. I’m not going to do the work for you.

You deny the existence of evidence only because you don’t believe in the plausibility. Simple as that.

Mandela Effect is possible in a multiverse. Do we have all the details and calculations for how pieces of different timelines could overlap one another? No.

Do we have evidence that details in reality change? Yes.

All you do is deny that this is possible when there is no evidence that the past is set in stone. There is now a higher likelihood that an INFINITE number of pasts exist.

I've said it is possible.

I've also said that it's so unlikely, the universe could end and start again a million times, and you'd never see the dumb shit you've been suckered into believing. Ask a physicist. Go ahead and have your nut cracked wide open.

The real evidence for human fallibility is your own diseased mind.

The only evidence can't possibly exist and the only people who's word can be believed would never speak on it. That means the entire fucking structure of reality has to have changed, except it missed a few spots. 👏👏👏

Why would the entire structure have to change? If something happens in location A, it doesn’t mean it also has to in location B.

Reality is not simple. We see a fraction of a fraction of it and likely can’t see the roots of creation and being itself but only the shadows of what is the underlying cause.

You’re view of the world is quite narrow if you can’t accept even the possibility of changes in spacetime that alter our perceived present.

Yes, I've also watched Neil DeGrasse Tyson talk about how wild and unpredictable the universe is. I particularly enjoyed the cg!

The sad part is, if you had even average an IQ you'd have the good graces to admit you don't know the first fucking thing about quantum mechanics.

Pointless comment.

False. You simply have a blind spot a mile wide for anything that absolves you of existential responsibility.

You glorious retard.

This made me think about myself, so fuck you buddy

I thought it was fist to forehead. Am I the only one who heard Kirk say "beam me up scotty"?

I love that you included the emotions you felt about the posture as evidence that you remember it correctly.

Where?

Imagine not being a time wizard 🤭

SMH this poor kid. When he thinks that a big list of shit that people don't remember correctly is somehow solid-gold proof of the most fantastical explanation imaginable it's obvious that he has no capacity to even think logically. It's no wonder he believes it. Sorry bucko, you're not special, you're just dumb as a rock.

What stumps me is the way ME operates in a way that is so easy for humans to understand - I wouldn’t think the universe has a concept of homonyms or good/bad endings for heroes.
