I really don’t understand why westerners expect other cultures to prefer democracy, it’s literally a very fringe ideology judging by popularity throughout history and regions.
Sure, some will argue that it worked in Japan but did it, really? It turned them into a nation of hopeless degenerates.
The funny thing is that it was in the hand of "westerners" to turn Hong Kong into a democracy. It was a British colony until 1997. For more than 150 years, the UK was not bothered that HK is only a colony. Understandable, btw. But allowing for the first time semi-free elections in HK in 1993, and then being surprised that by 1997 HK is not a free democracy, is a typical Bong move.
What did they expect? "For 150years, we never turned HK into a democracy. But sure you will, communist China. Right?" lmao

Democracy is basically majority oppressing minorities

New things take time to catch on and perfect. Just look at communism
1 MenodonaiSilverowsky 2020-05-19
What communism...might as well call it fascism now. China is a dictatorship and one way or another that’s what they’ve always been.

I think we agree...

When your government rejects human rights as foreign interference but bases their entire ideology on a 19th century German manifesto
