The COVID-19 lockdown has really shown how people have lost their way with technology: instead of using the newly-liberated time for learning, innovation and creativity, most people are binge-watching shows on Netflix and making TikTok videos of themselves dancing like strippers. Technology has come to serve a stupefying role in society, which will no doubt accelerate if we enter a period of Universal Basic Income, as the powers-that-be will need to keep everyone comatosed to ensure no revolution takes place (the inevitable outcome when you allow people the time and tools to think).
