THAD : wait you guys read romans and fiction? You know it's just watered down philosopy? You should try it king! Strat by the "simplest" you will realise it's way more easy than what they want you to believe.

Storys and fiction are just as valid as reading philosophy books. The telling of engaging tales has allways been a cornerstone of literature and culture, only when it is dumbed down into capeshit and the same book 20x does it become problematic. Through fiction we can explore a great deal of concept and make statements or arguments much more effectively and convincingly than if we'd just write them down all by themselfes.

I guess Ted should have just made a story about a monkey then...

Not quite, with what he was doing, anything except a manifesto would have been retarded. Maybe if he wasn't sending mailbombs he could have tryed to write a story with the themes he discusses in his manifesto, but it's not easy to find a publisher these days.

Generally speaking, manifestos, political and philosophical works have allways a greater influence. However, storys can be used to sell these ideas to the masses, or to put them into persective, or to explore how they are to be implemented or used.

so you're telling me it's watered down philosopy?

It’s applied philosophy.

COPE, applied philosophy is called living!

What are those books?

Warhammer 40k novels. There are actually hundreds out there. These look like the Horus Heresy saga.
