It's not even that great a story. It's a series of shitty D&D campaign that culminates in a fight between a bunch of child wizards, and a lich and his cult.
As a set of books for kids it's a good series to get kids interested in reading novels, but it's definitely not the kind of series grown adults should be obsessing over.
