These folk really seem to believe that fascists are about to take over the world, and that the situation we're in is akin to Nazi Germany.
The amount of delusion you see on subs like r/news where they've led themselves to believe that they're participating in a revolution which will go down in history.
The #resist movement apparently have tried to tie themselves into this. Wouldn't be surprised if they end up at the White house with a guillotine and one day.
I'm sure they'll get bored soon, but let's see, could be fun.

Extra emotional always love to falsely equate things they don't like with Hitler. It's always the easiest comparison even if it's fucking stupid. They just can't and don't want to do any research, or any deep thinking above service level, so they'll take the easiest route. You'll see it in other arguments, where they'll equate political things with bad people in entertainment media. Is there a pill for this?
The trans Atlantic slave trade and the holocaust are pretty much all history classes teach in American public schools, and these kinds of people don't read anything other than Harry Potter, so they literally just don't know any other historical events to reference.
