Ohio State fan from Charlotte, NC creates fake online history on Wiki, IMDB and other websites to support fraudulent claim posing as a non-existent, two-sport Ohio State All-American. Ohio State fan board Sherlocks out the lies. [XPOST from r/cfb]

First, thanks to /u/bass_voyeur for unearthing this and posting it to /r/cfb (link here - reposting here with permission).

The drama in question comes from Buckeye Planet, a message board for fans of The Ohio State University Buckeyes (and before anyone rags on the design, a sysadmin in the massive thread linked notes that they're upgrading).

The OP, JustinAGS, kicks off the shitstorm with a pretty simple statement, hoping to engage the board's knowledge-base:

I came across something peculiar recently. There's this Buckeyes fan club in Charlotte, that celebrates one former Buckeye All-American Tight End by the name of Giovanni Strassini. He "won the Rose Bowl in 1974 with Archie, Cornelius Green, Pete Johnson and the rest," says the page. He also "caught an 8 yard touchdown pass in the 1976 Rose Bowl", and "was drafted by the Cleveland Browns as the 162nd player picked in the 1977 NFL Draft," according to his Facebook page. Not only that, "Mr. Strassini is also a member of the OSU Football All-Century Team!" say the Charlotte Buckeyes.

I'll not spoil the drama, but highlights include refutation of pretty much every claim Strassini has made, wiki-editing wars and someone who quite possibly is Giovanni Strassini himself making an appearance - and perhaps the greatest wall of crazy copypasta ever.
