Elad Nehorai explains how many religious Jews looked up to Matisyahu as a role model and were inwardly hurt by his decision to shave his beard and appearing in public without a kippah. Surely this would be the time for some empathy and attempts at understanding other cultures, right?

Oh wait, this is Huffington Post:

"Maybe he was just tired of being a member of an oppressive misogynistic religious sect."

"This story is a perfect example of why religion is terrible for human beings."

"Sad that you place such emphasis on such shallow concepts of culture as a beard or a hat."

"He found his way out of superstition and religious dogma, and has entered the real world. Be happy for him."

Some other posters come out of the woodwork to try to defend the writer but the comment section ends up looking like more of a mess because of it.
