the Skarp laser razor made a $4 million killing on kickstarter. But some redditors are skeptical it's a scam. A user representing Skarp shows up to skirmish

Skarp made claims that a tiny, handheld, cordless razor running on an AAA battery would laser-cut your hair for a smooth, water-free, and quick shave like nothing else available. Here is their kickstarter, which generated a lot of buzz and got insane amounts of donations. (As of today, that kickstarter page is showing the project was suspended, and as far as I understand Skarp will not see any of that 4 million, because Skarp was unable to make a a working prototype. But this drama happened before the kickstarter got suspended).

Here a reddit user writes a multi point critique of the feasibility of the Skarp razor. The Skarp account replies. He eats some downvotes and is further critiqued

Here the Skarp guy gets into more arguments with disgruntled redditors and makes a bet that a year from now Skarp will be proven to not be a scam.

The guy(s) also did a casual AMA which was not well recieved. I'm linking the whole thing so you can get the big picture of how badly the AMA went over.
