Minor controversy in TwoX when chivalrous male feminists criticise a man for not giving up his seat on the train to a fair maiden

Original OP post:

I was on the train yesterday commuting home from work as I always do and a woman walks up to me and asks, "Can I have your seat?" This woman was in her late 20's and thin. I asked, "Are you handicapped or pregnant?" I wasn't sitting in the handicapped seating by the way. She said, "No, I just thought that you would be a gentleman and do the right thing" as she smiled and batted her eyes at me. I said, "Well I am a gentleman but I am also a feminist, so I'm going to have to say no". If you are a parent with kid(s) in tow, even a little pregnant, limping onto the train or bus or elderly, you won't even have to ask me for my seat. I'm going to offer it. But just because she's a woman? Plus the gentleman comment with the flirty look really upset me. What gets me the most is that I have had a pit in my stomach for the last 24 hours second guessing myself. I was raised by extremely old fashioned parents.

/u/domesplitter13 believes that "at the end of the day you are still a man and should yield to a women."

/u/Suedlaenderin argues that OP is not a feminist and is in fact a misogynist
