If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about - here you go, from last week.

Note: It's believed that the father took the kids on holiday, arranged for sole custody in Lebanon and then never returned to Australia (where he and his ex-wife had shared custody).

So an update on the situation, the news crew is home.

Channel Nine brokered a deal with the husband ranging in the numbers of $600,000 AU to $3m AU depending on who you ask for the husband to drop the charges on the crew, however the "child retrievement agency" they hired were not part of the deal and are still being charged in Lebanon.

The mother and father are currently in Lebanon arranging another custody agreement.

The "agency" are blaming their failure in the operation on a rival "agency" alerting the Lebanese government of the operation.

Lastly, it has come to light that Channel Nine themselves did pay the "agency" a sum of $68,000+ AU as revealed by a bank statement at a court hearing in Lebanon. Nine's board has launched an internal audit of the story.
