For the oblivious Americans among you, the European Championships take place at four year intervals and are like the World Cup for Europe only. Delete Brazil and Argentina and switch Hoduras for Albania and you pretty much have the jist of it. This time the tournament is taking place in France and many of the participant countries have a rich history of hooliganism: Russia, Poland, Ukraine, England, Italy and so on.

There was already some trouble with England fans rampaging around Marseille, hilariously chanting "ISIS where are you?" and throwing deckchairs at every window they could find. What else would you expect when thousands of bald construction workers with erectile dysfunction and sun stroke guzzle down twenty pints and get the chance to take their frustrations out on foreigners instead of their wives?

Last night England played Russia who scored a very late goal to tie the game. The exhuberant Ruskis saw their opportunity to crack western skulls and streamed over the barrier to chase the England fans. More fights broke out after the game and the tear gas was once again flowing liberally in the port of Marseille. Yesterday was only the second matchday.

What this means is that we can expect plenty of juicy infighting on /r/soccer now that the sub has allowed users to switch from club to national team flairs.
