Dude in /r/relationships catches his wife flirting with an old flame through Facebook chat. One woman tells him that she also flirts with men, but it does NOT mean that she'll cheat on her own husband. Goes as well as you might think.

Original OP:

Hi Reddit,

We have been dating for 4 years and married a year ago and have a child. Just after returning from our summer trip my wife decided she is seeing some old friends from college. I have no problem with my wife meeting old friends, so I tell her to go and have a great time. And she came home late at night. Morning is when the god-awful gut sinking feeling started right when my son and I were fooling around FaceTiming to my mother-in-law who was just across the room. My son and I were on my wife's iPad when FB messenger pops up at the top of the screen. It said "Hey cutie". As I was fooling around with my son on FaceTime, I did not pay any attention to the name of the person. Then, comes the second message saying "What's up?". Shortly after wife came and asked to check "something" on her iPad and she logs out of her FB messenger. She had been on her phone for quite some time ever since and kept asking me, how am I doing. That's when I got that god-fucking-awful feeling in my gut. I tried to act as calm as possible throughout the day. My mother-in-law who is a saint had booked a trip to a spa for 10 days, so I had to drop her off at the gathering early in the morning where the spa customers take a bus for the rest of the ride. The night before I could not sleep and the feeling was killing me, so right after I drop my mother-in-law at the gathering I logged in to my wife's facebook (we both know each other's password). I started from the top of the thread. She knew this guy from way back. Now, this prick who is unsatisfied with his own marriage started flirting with my wife telling her that his wife is gaining weight and that his wife is getting jealous. I have never been jealous with my wife. Not until today. She seemed to enjoy the flirtation. Although there weren't any messages that my wife flirted with this guy, she openly accepted all his. Now she has secrets. These secrets. The ones that leave traces but never reveal what actually happened. Talks about deleted photos of this guy and my wife kissing. I am dying. Who would ever give a thought about their wife being capable of this. I was ignorant and never thought this would never happen. From her own text she says that it would be difficult to stay faithful once we hit 30. Can you believe that? We're 24 and 25. She says that after 5 years or so she will have difficulties maintaining a marriage. Reddit, do you think this marriage is a ticking bomb? Should I abandon ship as soon as possible? We have a beautiful son together. This family I started meant the world to me. What should I do? What do people even do at times like this? Guys, I need advice.

Edit 1: preparing breakfast for my son. She is still asleep at the moment. I do feel guilty that I went through her facebook without her consent, but inside I feel it was the right thing to do so from my side of the issue.

Edit 2: So, guys I think that confrontation should be my first step. I have been keeping an eye on the messages and so far nothing else had occurred.

Edit 3: Screenshot everything.

tl;dr: My marriage is a ticking bomb. Inevitable cheating by my wife.
