I'm not even going to bother editorializing much at first, dudes and dudettes, I'll just post the first three paragraphs so you get the point:

I'm an Arab woman in my mid-20s, living in the Middle East. I appreciate this sub and the support and comfort it offers to women from different backgrounds, so I thought it would be a great platform for dialogue on an issue that somewhat troubles me.

As you know, women in the Global South face immense challenges and hardships on different levels in order for them to be able to live as "normally" as possible that range from simple, mundane things like driving and going out to major challenges in education, marriage and careers.

I feel resentment when I see western women taking up causes such as:

• Freeing the nipple

• Showing off their menstruation blood

• Manspreading/mansplaining

Okay so she goes from there, but it just builds upon that part, there's no craziness or shit afterward.

Some fun responses:

• "You remind me of Islamaphobes who use ISIS executions and Hizb-it-Tahrir demonstrations in London to "justify" their prejudice." No joke, that post's next sentence starts with "Where do you get off" lol. I expect someone on drama will say she doesn't get off because of FGM, but hopefully you make it more fun.

• "Most women in the United States are under the poverty line, lack education, and are trapped in poor situations."

• In response to a woman not being free to show her nipple and comparing it to acid being thrown on a face: "Both can be true and equally terrible in the minds of the beholder. It's along the same lines of: everyone has experienced trauma, the degree of which defines what level equals "trauma" to each individual person."

• "Short answer is simply because things are worse somewhere else does not mean you can't change things at home. They are all valid."
