/r/Pokemon mods allow endgame spoiler to be posted for Pokemon Sun/Moon a week after Christmas. Delete every post complaining about spoilers policy, ban users for violating Rule 2 which is "Don't be rude"

No wonder you have an army of pretentious neckbeard losers following you around

"While we're sorry that some people coming from /r/all[1] got spoiled by a top trending post, we don't cater the subreddit to specific religious/Hallmark holidays, but rather to the demands of the community as a whole. This is the reason we go by English or World release dates rather than Japanese."

So, fuck all the community members who got their new Pokemon game on Christmas because mods are edgy.

A friend informed me he was banned due to violating Rule 2, when his comments were asking for spoilers to be properly marked.

waaaaaah

I don't love you, I just love shaggin' yer nan m8

That's so dumb. The majority of subscribers of that sub probably celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah. If not for religious reasons, for the loot, or maybe a mixture of both. The mods must be too euphoric.

I've never actually seen someone celebrate christmas for the religion. Everyone I know do it for the cultural, family get-togetherness of it.

I'm more surprised people care about the plot of a Pokemon game

I had someone go off on me because I spoiled the plot of fallout 4. Like, dawg, it's really dumb.

I really don't care about spoilers in video games. but I'm also one of those awful people that likes to use walkthroughs. not because I need help with the game, but I really hate missing optional shit like side quests

I used to care, but then i realized it's just pixels. Worthless pixels.

I used to care about anything, then I realized time is an illusion and we're all slowly heading towards death. Why care about anything

Nihilism is truly liberating. Isn't it? Now we're free to pleasure ourselves within out fleeting existence.

That's the name of my cat.

wow a cat named after the egyptian cat god

I know, right?

I can understand spoilers in two instances:

1) heavy narrative games (like witcher 3)

2) heavy secrets game (like dark souls)

Anything else is fucking dumb af

yeah I get why some people would care about those. I have a habit of starting games like the Witcher 3 with the intention of not spoiling stuff, but then I realize I probably don't have time to play it more than once and don't want to get a shitty ending

Pokemon I still don't get though. I remember that sub was complaining when then new Pokemon were being revealed that it shouldn't be allowed since some people want to go into the game knowing absolutely nothing about it, including the starters

I always found spoiling the plot line helped me enjoy the material better

this. felt like I was the only one

Yeh spoilers never really bothered me. I like seeing the mechanization for moving the plot forward and seeing how well they do it

this exactly. playing the Witcher 3 right now and know exactly what ending I want. it doesn't really spoil anything for me since I like seeing how the game gets there

although books and movies I'd rather not spoil

The plot in a video game is only one part of the entertainment experience, whereas the plot in a book or movie is the book or movie.

Unless of course that "game" is one of those retarded visual novels.

that actually makes a lot of sense. not used to that here

That is our opinion. As someone that plays games more for the story than the multiplayer. When some one spoils a game for me it was worst than a movie. I invest way more time to playing and beating a game than I do watching a movie. So ya while it might be silly in your eyes we all have our own forms of entertainment.

I mean, even if you told me X kills Y, it is not spoiler-ish enough for the thing to turn sour. Why did X kill Y? Did he kill him for real or was it part of a trick/fake death? How did he kill him? Did Z have any benefit from this feud? So many questions and only watching or further spoiling is the answer.

I had Death Note and Game of Thrones spoiled and yet they are one of the best shows I have seen and I watched them countless times.

death note would have been awful if it was spoiled for me... The whole appeal of it is the suspense.

Granted that was like 12 years ago so who knows how i'd like it if i watched it now.

That's how you feel. Knowing that x killed y regardless of the reason will change how you feel about x for better or worse. Changing how the developers wanted you to feel about a person before they wanted you to change how felt about a character.

Also with that logic giving away any part of a movie doesn't really mean anything because we don't know there motives.

like witcher 3

Here's the thing, you could tell someone a spoiler for Witcher 3, and there's a good chance their game will go very different anyway.

Once I found out the Fallout 4 endgame, I had absolutely no reason to try to finish it. It sounds really dumb, and having met him, I do not care for Shaun at all.

Same :(

I recently started playing Pokémon Y and I can't possibly button mash through cutscenes fast enough

first Pokemon game I couldn't finish. the rivals and npc's were annoying, even without exp share the game was super easy, and pretty much nobody had more than like 3-4 pokemon. game just felt boring

You gotta pvp mate

man children

plots of pokemon don't make any sense anyway. team rocket are ostensibly a criminal outfit, but they follow some weird moral code which means that if someone beats them at pokemon they have to back down. he's a 10 year old kid, just knock him out and you can do what you want.

To be fair, that 10 year old kid just beat their ass with animals that can shoot anything from fireballs up to directed energy weapons. The bigger plot hole is why are we giving 10 year olds military grade arms.

The bigger plot hole is why are we giving 10 year olds military grade arms.

the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a pokemon...

Now that you bring this up...

Can you kill Pokemons with guns? I mean, what is the limit here? What will happen if I hold a glock to the yellow fucker's face? How about a point blank .50 cal shot? Can Onyx be killed with bullets using the same way? How about a Ditto? What happens if I nail a god pokemon to the ground and drop H bombs dead center on them?

Also, 10 year olds fight it out, pokemon vs pokemon but surely the adults are using them for war and military in general. Can a pokemon kill? If so, due to their intelligence, does killing makes them sad like humans or happy, like a dog who is waiting for his treat?

You are missing the big one - do school shooters instead use amped-up black market Pokemon?

Spoiler alert: you're a ten year old kid who runs through the dangerous wilderness, training pets to fight each other

Seriously plot in a pokemon game? Lol

Moo

What a terrible way to handle any of that.

Agreed. Their response was basically "not our fault, if you don't like it-unsub!"

Then we mention how the issue is that it hit /r/all

"I can't control that!"

Literally the only people who could control it. Arguing with their policy gets you banned for "being rude".

The community decided that after two weeks it was all fair game. They didn't add in exceptions for Christmas or Black Friday or whatever else. Asking or expecting the mods to then change the rules just because it's a popular post is pretty shitty modding.

To be fair, these are people who spend their free time "moderating" a website about pokemon. You can't expect someone with a life that empty to have any real problem-solving skills.

Isn't being a volunteer mod even more of a reason not to give a fuck?

I didn't even realize you could really spoil a Pokemon game

Bland Pokémon plot points are very serious

Spolier: Lillie is a neo-nazi

I mean someone had to do it

I thought that was her mom.

So does this game lure permavirgin NEETs to play in traffic?

'Cause if not, then pass.

Only casuls would go outside to play a game.

Yep I was pissed when I saw that post. I had just started Pokemon Sun.

Our fault for having the audacity to visit /r/all, apparently

Pokemon fucking sucks

yo mama sucks. signed, gary oak

Wow you'd have to be absolutely retarded to not realize that little shits gonna save everyone.

I mean it's far from obvious that he's going to evolve into the fucking version legendary, seeing as legendaries don't evolve ever

What did you think the point of that little shit was? Be a mysterious worthless little shit all game?
