wut?

tl;dr?

Here's a summary.

  • Big Civ 5 AI-only game is successful, makes Guinness world records and recieves a lot of media attention.

  • Some guy with good credentials offers to make it better by giving a super huge server for a new game to run on since the old one was starting to get too big for its computer.

  • New guy sets and enforces unrealistic deadlines, forcing team to work ridiculous hours of overtime, threatens legal action if they sever ties.

  • They sever ties.

  • This all happens 3 days before the new game is set to released. The community is already hyped.

  • The team tries to salvage what they can and make an alternate reality game to cover for them while they work on getting the game out as soon as possible.

  • Community starts throwing shit when they don't get their dose of civ.

tl;dr: The mark III civ battle Royale was supposed to be released on livestream starting today, but the silent partner with the mods of the battleroyale subreddit ditched them and refused server access. Now there is mass rioting and panic.

Boring nerd shit.
