I'm pretty skeptical that 4chan was actually behind it, but fwiw I think that MotherJones article is what those archived 4chan posts were claiming to be responsible for.
It is, but they fail to provide any evidence that they had any responsibility for it, or even that they had mentioned it in passing before it. This means those 4chan posts are just anonymous people saying 'yeah I did that'.
In other news CNN is reporting that US salmon may contain Japanese tapeworm, I totally made that up can't believe they fell for it lelz.
Yeah, I know. I looked into it, and that's why I'm skeptical. I'm just saying that the Mother Jones article being published back in October doesn't really mean anything because that's exactly what someone was taking credit for in those archived 4chan posts. I'm hoping that whoever posted that comes forward and provides screencaps proving that they did in fact come up with it beforehand (because that would be hilarious), but otherwise it's just some anonymous poster's word.
But what about Reid's letter to Comey stating, "In my communications with you and other top officials in the national security community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government…The public has a right to know this information."
This pissgate has to be what he was referring to. So that would have to mean that Reid was fed information somehow from 4chan.
Yeah, the NYT had an article about this and mentioned that the story has been circulating among reporters for quite some time, but nobody ever mentioned it because it couldn't be verified. So it's highly unlikely that this particular information is accurate, but it doesn't have anything to do with 4chan.

Did you know that the bathtub was first marketed in north america as a horse trough and dog scalder?

You mean there is a better way to scald my dog rather than cumbersome tea kettles?

Interestingly enough, the document about Trump has been around longer than that one 4chan post out there that people use to discredit it.
In fact Mother Jones reported on the document in October, before the silly 4chan post was made.
That doesn't mean it's true, but it certainly does mean that the fucking 4chan post is irrelevant.

None of it really adds up.

It literally mentions hentai and anime and is riddled with spelling mistakes, of course they were.
