I'm 16 years old and am in my Senior year of high school. In my econ class today we were having a class discussion about our results for the isidewith.com quiz we took last week. She asked if anyone got above 90% for a candidate and I raised my hand saying I got 98% for Jill Stein. She then called me a tree hugger and mocked me in front of the class. I live in a very conservative city and I have diagnosed Social Anxiety, so this was humiliating. Half the class was laughing at me, and when I stopped talking and kept to myself, my teacher then proceeds to call me out because I had my hands in my lap and to put them on my desk. This isn't even a fucking rule, but she did it to bring attention to me. A girl across the room tells me to stop pouting and accept that our teacher disagrees with me. I wasn't fucking pouting, I stopped talking because I was uncomfortable as fuck. My teacher tells me that the environment and social issues aren't important because we need to focus on National Defense. What fucking bullshit, I was humiliated in a class where the teacher said last week to voice your opinion no matter what you believe. I told my parents about it when I got home and they want to report my teacher to the school administration and get me switched out of the class. I just dont know why she had to treat me so rudely in front of the whole class.
