Why is this even up for debate? Those events are to celebrate LGBT. Which is admittedly a group of people who have had their rights stripped until very recently. They deserve their pride events.
Those events are not to give a platform to a completely unrelated group of people who literally fight and cry for victim status the one second another group gets that.
It actually really pisses me off anyone actually defends that.
Honestly LGBT has had far more strife and struggle in first world countries (in my lifetime- I'm 22 years old) that I've seen first hand than black people. I'm not invalidating that there's a select few morons out there that aren't racist or that black people didn't unfairly have to fight for their rights a long time ago- yet BLM seems to be the only group that takes it to an extreme and acts like there's a huge epidemic of racism and fights other marginalized groups for oppression status? It does more harm than good. It polarizes people and makes you feel if you don't absolutely believe everyone you come in contact with is a racist or you willingly give blm a platform to speak- you're part of the problem.
