I wanted a dog to love and be my best friend. I wanted a dog to walk, and play fetch with. To take to the park, to the beach, and to make his 15 years on earth the best that I could. I want him live happy and die happy.

Because the lifestyle and financial difference between owning a shelter dog and owning no dog is huge, but the difference between owning a shelter dog and a purebred is all aesthetic and trivial.
