If any public official makes a gaff such as using the phrase "alternative facts", it's going to be made into a meme, become the basis for a mediocre SNL Weekend Update joke, and end up in the political lexicon.
That said, I actually feel bad for Conway. She doesn't seem to be able to think on her feet, particularly when she's on the defensive. I'm sure she meant "alternative estimates" as sizes of rallies are often in dispute.
Yeesh, that's sort of a bad quality for someone in her position. Now saying that someone who can't think on her feet isn't intelligent, or can't be successful. But if that's really the case- she's basically fucked. Half of anyone's career in the whitehouse is dealing with the press.
