I mean, an actual answer? There's a couple things:

• Tom Brady, the Patriot's QB, is tangentially associated with Trump. They've been pictured together multiple times at events, Trump claims they're friends, etc. Brady has never publically endorsed Trump though, and in fact, his wife is pretty anti-Trump on social media. He's not some diehard Trump supporter.

• Patriots are a predominantly white team, especially when compared to the rest of the NFL, which is mostly black (well over 2/3 now I believe). Again, who cares

Brady had a red MAGA hat in his locker about a year back and said he supports Trump "as a friend", but Brady is very apolitical. Belichick (coach) and Kraft (Pats owner) are definitely friends with trump, they go to a lot of his events. I doubt Belichick or Brady care much about Donald's politics though. I'm sure Kraft is the one who introduced them.

The quantity and variety of sour grapes the Pats winning is always great. I mean, Brady's actual numbers and career are so close to unassailable that people have to take issue with his (incredibly bland) private life.

I mean, I'm a huge pats fan and I love Brady to death, but the dude is kind of a boring weirdo who just obsesses about his diet, exercise, and football. Not exactly controversial tabloid material.
