The reality is that autistic people can have a beautiful diversity of gender identities and sexualities, and we have the same right to self-determination as anybody else.

Implying we are people

How can one fail LGBTQWTFBBQOMG people? They're failures by themselves!

I'm immensely proud of being autistic...

But... why?

There's a tendency for autistics to be shamed for being autistic, told their perception of the world is wrong and needs to be fixed, or even told that they'd be better off dead than alive as an autistic person. Needless to say, being on the receiving end of that your whole life is pretty rough.

So many autistics counter that by embracing/accepting autism as part of who they are. (And there are many aspects of autism that are not inherently bad, just different.) Hence the autism pride community.
