And right now if polls are correct Muslims world wide hold a variety of regressive and anti left ideals. Be it stoning people to death for adultery or apostasy. Our cutting off hands for stealing. And many more.
Even in the most secular Muslim countries like Albania and the Balkan you have still too many people who hold these believes. Again when you go after the polls.

Not really. Punk has always drawn much of its fan base from the comfortable white middle class who, if they are in contact with Muslims, are more likely to meet secular/progressives like themselves.
Combine that with the hypersensitivity and guilt that obsessions with identity politics, oppressed minorities, historical colonialism etc generate among the white middle-class and you'll get nonsense excuses e.g. no 'lived-in' experience, 'Western orientalism', "but right-wingers do it" for non-criticism of Islam like the ones in that thread.
Mind you many of those people wouldn't have a 'lived-in' experience of a Christian church either.....
