You need the actors, otherwise known as the performers. Can't really perform without them. The audience is circumstantial. The actors probably want them there to get that high from being in front of the audience, but without a real audience the actors themselves are still witness to the show. Also you don't need a theater and you can't not have a stage simply because all the world's a stage.
