Look up the paedophile information exchange on Wikipedia. Look into the history of what has happened every time the law is lenient with paedophiles.
This whole discussion is based on the premise that therapy == lower rates of offence, but I don't agree that's the case. The "good" paedophiles who would use the therapy properly aren't a threat anyway: if you've already reached the stage where you're volunteering for therapy, you're unlikely to actually hurt someone.
On the other hand, malicious paedophiles will use the advocacy movement as a smokescreen. They will be caught committing "lower level offences" such as watching CP and then be let off with therapy. They will take advantage of the system to their own ends and ultimately commit more crimes. All therapy does is make "good" paedophiles who aren't going to offend anyway less likely to commit suicide. It can't make a malicious paedophile into a good one.
In addition, the article on the original thread is about a high level police officer in the UK who thinks we should let paedos who watch CP off, and I've explained many times that causes direct harm to children through creating a demand.
In the past organisations like PIE, which started off as liberal progressive movements were almost immediately hijacked by paedophiles who advocates for the position that paedophilia is okay. Look it up.
I've made this pretty clear. If you disagree, cool, but I think I've made a pretty coherent argument.

Damn, I was at a school with a pedo PE teacher! Also UK. He made the younger boys rugby team weigh themselves naked for "fitness reasons".
