No it's using rational thinking, you are at a massive disadvantage in terms of damage done when tangling with something of that size. The smart move is to stop or slow down to let the object that could damage you in a crowded area pass by you.
Same as if a semi truck is driving like an ass, I give them a wide birth because if I'm in a car they'll fuck you up.
Common sense. Use it, you may find it useful in saving your life.
Here's what I love, cyclists feel they are entitled to the road but never want to accept you can make poor choices, after seeing that bus the smart thing to do is recognize that risk and let that bitch get away from you and your children.
As I've stated, some people never use common sense and feel if they're in the right then others must change, the thing is, it's hard to say you're right it you're dead or in a coma.
You're right! They totally should have engaged the rocket boosters and flown away. It is utterly unreasonable to expect a very important bus to wait until it is safe to overtake. It is entirely the cyclists fault for wanting to use the road. Bet you wouldn't be saying this shit if it had been a car, even though it would be even more dangerous and still illegal to do what that bus did.

/u/thehighground point seems to be that as a cyclist, you only have a one shot at safety and it should be firmly in your hands.
You as a cyclist being in the right means shit once they scrape you off the pavement.
I could be wrong though…

In your narrow view, in reality it's piss poor decisions by those at risk of getting injured or dead, one day you'll grow a brain and understand.
