Even if the refugees carried paperwerok and their countries of origin had a somewhat reliable civil service system (they don't), then we could force them back. But even then it would be illegal by international law to send most people back as their countries are in shambles and they rightfully claim refugee status more often than not. The US would be the first one to jump up and tell the EU it should keep true to international treaties.

They have taken over 100.000s of refugees, but now organizations like Amnesty blame Europe for how those refugees in turkey are treated. Its a enormous shitshow that has no direct solution; except destroying the reason those refugees wanna flee in the first place.
