having graduated from lsu and living in new Orleans, I can honestly say college was some of the best times of life... but I'd NEVER, EVER go back and live in BR because of people like this.
id rather live in br than new orleans, although br is doing its damndest to become jackson 2.0, if st. george actually happens ill consider buying a house there.
eh I think I'm biased towards new Orleans b/c I live in Algiers point... very little crime, friendly neighbors, not enough tourists to annoy people, just westbank enough to be quiet but not enough to be trashy. If I live somewhere else, I might hate it.
baton rouge, outside of about 7 Saturdays in the fall, basically feels like it should be a suburb of some other big time. It has very little identity of its own outside of, "muh tigers".
it has a lot of the downsides of a Houston/Atlanta/dallas but without any real upside
